The total number of working-age (16 to 65) immigrants (legal and illegal) holding a job in North Carolina increased by 313,000 from the first quarter of 2000 to the first quarter of 2014...The number of working-age natives with a job declined by 32,000 over the same time.

North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagen (D) voted for it.
An analysis of government data by the Center for Immigration Studies shows that, since 2000, all of the net increase in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job in North Carolina has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal).
This is the case even though the native-born accounted for 61 percent of growth in the states total working-age population.
Meanwhile half of New York, New Jersey Pennsylvania and Ohio have moved here.
That’s OK; they’re working.
They don’t get EBT cards, aren’t driving Mercedes,
don’t get Section 8 rent, nor aid to dependent children—maybe that’s why they have to work.
And maybe that’s why they are so productive.
Those aren't illegal aliens stealing jobs - they're just undocumented democrat voters.
I sympathize.
I grew up in south Florida.
The other half moved there.
All of them are Obama States. That’s good news for the Kay Hagan campaign.
Not all do. I see plenty of them on welfare.
And ALL of them can’t wait to convert NC into a hell like the one they fled by voting for the Rats....
Visit the RDU area and witness the fantastic expansion of Raleigh, Durham, Cary Morrisville and even Apex and the doubt will be removed.
an educated but out of work young person needing a job should hang out there a month and select the best offer.
Sorry - that's not accurate.
Legal immigrants - 30 million since 1980 - are ALL eligible for ALL forms of government assistance, including cash assistance like the Earned Income Tax Credit.
There is a huge body of published data that show that LEGAL immigrants use welfare MORE than native born Americans.

I'm educated and unemployed in the area. Lay offs happen here too. Been looking for a while now. I have a good resume too. My last job, I would say at least 75% were foreigners. I was laid off in 2000 too in this area. I had to take contract jobs out of town and finally landed a permanent job in 2005 in this area. Worked 5 years and was laid off again when they shipped our jobs to Poland. I thought I wasn't going to have any trouble finding a job this time. Worked remotely for Microsoft on a 8 month contract (renewed twice) but after that I couldn't land anything. Still looking now. I get a lot of calls about out of town contracts, but I am getting too old to travel around like I did previously.
Ted Kennedy changed where our nations immigrants come from with his 1965-66 Immigration Act. We went from about 180 million to 300 million very fast. The folks on section 8 housing, SNAP with their EBT cards good for beer now are not going to work period if US citizens that can be checked on. Illegals whether they using those programs or not will work as most cannot be checked out. How many white or black Americans has anyone seen roofing these days or in the last ten years. Jobs many of us did as 16-18 year olds are beneath today’s youth. I could not even get my wife’s son to go to college with me paying 100%.
True.
More and more apartments are accepting the Section 8 vouchers. Even the nicer ones. I am seeing a huge change in population where I live. Last time I saw this I sold the house and moved in 1991. the old area is gang ridden now. I am afraid Hermitage, TN is soon to be like Antioch.
Thanks for the information on the 1965-66 Immigration Act. I’ll have to look it up.
Re: Section 8
Also true in my town.
I live east of Seattle, in a moderately priced apartment right next to a very affluent area.
Several of the apartment houses in this area now accept Section 8.
The news gets worse - banks now receive a substantial tax credit for loaning money to build low income housing.
Bingo - a 250 unit low income apartment is now being built 1 block away.
Still worse - the ultra-Leftist downtown church in my area has sold its property to a condo developer.
It is moving its homeless shelter and women’s shelter just two blocks away.
I was hoping to live here until I got too old to take care of myself - perfect location, grocery stores, upscale mall, bus transit center, medical center, all within easy walking distance.
Nope - looks like I’ll have to make a run for it.
You are more then welcome.
