Monday at the Laborfest event in Milwaukee, President Barack Obama gave a passionate speech in his plea for fair wages for workers. At a raised pitch, he said, "I´m not asking for the moon. I just want a good deal for the workers." The president also discussed his "vision for an economy," where workers have a fair chance, retirement benefits, family leave and pay equality for woman.

Well, he may not be asking for the moon, but I say let’s all give him a moon. Is he asking for the bird? I can give him that, too.

fair wages for workersAmazing how wrong I have been all these years...!!!
I thought wages were determined by your ability, skills, talents, drive, education, work ethic, ambition...etc.
Now wages are determined by what is "fair"..
Gee, what a putz I am...

If he truly wants a good deal for workers than he should resign immediately, support repeal of ObamaCare and push for lower taxes. Obama is the reason workers’ wages are not as high as they should be.

So what is a “fair” wage, and who gets to decide?
Considering that these jackass workers think that they should get more than what they signed up for, I would venture to say that it would be just enough to price them out of a job.

One cannot have a sensible dialog with someone whose rhetoric defaults to “x+y=infinity” and “x-y=0” for any values of x and y he finds inconvenient.

He may not be asking for the Moon, but that’s what he will get from me.
4.7 million Americans work for minimum wage. They are mostly high school or college students, or young high school dropouts.
If the economy is “revving” as Obama says, wages will increase due to demand as needed. It’s called a labor market.
It works just fine when left alone. Abolish the minimum wage.
