Al Franken is currently attempting to present to the general public the image of someone who is willing to forge alliances with Republican senators as well as avoiding controversy by engaging in sweet corn filibusters when answering campaign questions. It is all part of his campaign strategy, along with refusing to debate his opponent, to run out the clock to election day.
However, when he thinks he can get away with it, Franken will pull out the race card and basically accuse Republicans of racism for supposedly wanting to suppress the vote of "certain Americans" as you can see at the 3:07 mark (and after the jump) in this Hmong TV video. In stark contrast to the genial and confident Franken which is being presented out in public, in the video he is bitterly divisive with an undertone of desperation:

One day this kind of political rhetoric will be tagged with “anti-white” then the game changes, but now the evil left drops the race card and our granny types start crying.
There’s lots and lots of Americans who I do not want to vote.
Universal franchise is ruining the country.
Well, this conservative doesn’t want idiots to vote. But there is no way to stop that.
What about non-property owners, net tax consumers, drug users, alcoholics, repeated petty criminals, and on and on.
Franken is right. There are lots of people that any sane Republican doesn’t want voting.
Almost correct Al...
The GOP doesn’t want certain Americans casting votes on the Senate floor.
Namely you.
Have Minnesota voters learned anything? Are they going to return this embarrassment to the Senate? Granted he has lots of peer company - Murray, Boxer, Durbin to name a few - but dropping him would at least be a good start.
Mr. Franken seems to be a freak of nature. His alimentary canal appears to be installed backwards.
And Democrats do not want Republicans to vote.
It sure would be nice if republicans would start highlighting this kind of hate mongering pander and stigmatizing it.
Al Franken is a buck toothed Moron.
HE’S RIGHT.
We don’t want Central Americans to vote, we don’t want South Americans to vote, we don’t even want (Canadian) North Americans to vote.
Only US Citizens, that’s why we support VOTER ID.
Nah! The country and our fellow citizens beat us to it. The Trayvon/Michael vote, women, and the special competing interests the Democrats (rather brilliantly) combine have made their party the default political thought process of whatever is going to be left of the nation.
The fact that so many Americans cannot look at a Bill Clinton, an Al Gore, a John Kerry and a Barack Obama and not immediately see the greater of the evils on the ballot means this experiment is in thee oligarchical stage before tyranny.
Blind spot: a rather brilliant psychiatrist of my acquaintance tells me one the one hand, Obama is very sick and ought to be a patient, but on the other vehemently defends his every move and has voted for him twice. WTF? Over.
Of course, we no longer have competing political parties. There is the government party and the increasingly dumbed-down people. There is no informed information readily available and quite frankly IMNVHO, fewer people who would recognize it if it were. Politics are just entertainment.
I thought it would take longer to happen.
Fixed it.
ONLYL PEOPLE WHO PAY TAXES should be alowed to VOTE. It is OUR money, WE should decide how it is to be SPENT! You want a voice in that? Then pay taxes like 44% of us are doing.
Is this grotesque going to get reelected?
Quite senatorial...he wasn’t funny at all with his SNL sketches...just weird, not funny.
My own personal favorite option would be to see Al Franken in prison and now allowed to vote.
He’s right and here’s my list:
Dead Americans
Central Americans
Non-U.S. Citizens pretending to be Americans
Cheating Americans voting twice or on behalf of those NOT casting a ballot
He is correct. Democrats are clearly not smart enough to vote.
