Former Senator Tom Daschle did the same thing..listing his mother’s house in Aberdeen, SD as his official South Dakota residence while he actually lived just outside the beltway with his well paid lobbyist wife. He would only show up in South Dakota for an occasional photo op and when he was running for re-election.
I still remember that phony sugar story that got her elected at the last hour a number of years ago.
BUT shes a democrat and has a “get out of logic” card..
Her voters do not do “facts” they do “emotions/feelings”..
AND.. Suck the heads of crawfish or some other “thing”..
Louisiana needs to dump Miss Piggy
So-is this story catching traction anywhere in the MSM? Or are they doing their usual “See no evil-report no evil” for anyone with a D next to their name?
Interesting article and raises questions for sure. A few I have include
What establishes residency for purposes of being a senator?
Does it require home ownership?
What address does she use for her drivers license, income tax filings [both federal and state],
residency address for voting,
Landrieu should come clean and let the voters of LA know.
Don’t forget the residential revisionism of the current mayor of Chicago.
If you do not own a house in the district or state, you are not qualified to represent the district or state.
Of course there is that certain segment of the population in La that will vote for her no matter what.
But, to me, these stories bring home all the debates about what Congress does/doesn’t do. Many say that the members of Congress get paid good money and take advantage of the numerous perks and that they do very little work for it. Question, have they done anything right over the last few decades? Barring a few examples, the whole body of Congress has been rather destructive.
I say, make their work schedule even shorter. Adjust their pay accordingly. Give them government housing. And then force them to be home with their constituents. Let them have to work like us normal folks, as the Founders intended, and adhere to the same policies they author and vote on.
If the law states that she needs a residence in La., and she doesn’t have one, then she gets kicked off the ballot being unable to qualify. Or better yet, let the voters decide and send her fatass packing.
Now watch all the “paid witnesses” start coming forward and telling they see her in New Orleans every Saturday.
Ian Richardson was in town LOL!
The price of the “Louisiana Purchase” might just be higher than estimated.
In all fairness, John McCain owns homes in Arizona, but does ANYONE thinks he lives here? If by the grace of God we ever get him out of office, does anyone think he’ll come home and live in Arizona with his wife?
With all this trouble she is in for supporting Obamacare, etc, now add this. Karl Rove should run some adds attacking her from the left, you know, for not being liberal enough. That will deal this election up for sure. Oh wait, that kinda crepola only works on a whiteboard.
A shame she’s gonna make it to a runoff thanks to this Maness guy taking votes from Cassidy.
In July 2008, it was revealed that then-Cong Robert Wexler claimed his mother-in-law's home in Delray Beach, Fla as his official residence (though he was listed on the House roll as "Dem-Boca Raton")...he actually lived in a Maryland suburb for most of the year.
Edward J. Lynch, a Republican running for Wexler's congressional seat, researched Wexler's living arrangements and took his argument to Fox News. "The house he lists on his voter registration is his in-laws' house, in a gated 55-and-older community," Lynch said. "Legally, he can't move back with children under 18."
After Wexler was confronted about the allegation, he stated that his mother-in-law does own the house in Delray Beach. But he also said he stays there when in Florida which, according to his office is, on average, about twice a month.
As a putative Florida resident, Wexler did not pay personal income tax, and his vehicles were also registered in that state, despite his near-permanent residency in Maryland and the Washington metropolitan area.
Wexler, born in 1961, did not meet the age requirements for his mother-in-law's senior community. Wexler later obtained a separate address within Palm Beach County.

WEXLER APPOINTS HIMELF ISLAMIC PEACEMAKER Cong Wexler founded the Congressional Caucus on US-Turkish Relations and got himself a seat on a Congressional Study Group on Turkey.
As the putative "Fla Congressman," Wexler inveigled the US to launch a "cooperative effort" to further Islamic Turkey's "economic and military self-reliance." At Wexler's behest, the US stupidly loaned and granted Islamic Turkey more than $7 billion in economic aid, and more than $14 billion in military assistance.
