As part of a legal settlement that will allow some illegal immigrants who deported themselves from Southern California to return to the United States, the federal government has agreed to advertise the settlement on various Mexican and Spanish-language media outlets.
The ACLU filed a class-action lawsuit last year on behalf of eleven illegal immigrants who deported themselves. The settlement reached on Wednesday will only cover "longtime California residents with relatives who are U.S. citizens and... young migrants whose parents brought them into the country illegally" who deported themselves between 2009 and 2013. An ACLU official has indicated that there were nearly 250,000 people who were "deported voluntarily from Southern California between 2009 and 2013" and estimated to the Los Angeles Times that the "number of repatriations could reach into the hundreds or thousands."

We have a weapon, and that's our $$$. Are we willing to use it?
Bingo.
Complete and total lunacy.
GOP House should deny funding. If they don’t, it is the same as them supporting this.
They’re not coming back. Isis is after the US not Mexico.
Well, look at what cutting funding, or the threat of, did to Rick Perry...
Apparently that is not enough...And since liberal/socialists have NO virture, much less scruples, ethics...
Does not leave conservatives much to work with if they do not have a process to do so...
Kinda pesky when you do not have the rule of law, or the respect for that at the end of the day...
They should not be bothered by public opinion and the media. What should bother them is not taking action and by being inactive being as much a part of the problem.
If they don’t have the gumption to vote their conscience then they should get out of office.
Absolutely...
You mean the feckless wonders in D.C.???
Let’s see, how well has that worked out for the country in the last 10-15 years??? I guess put 2006 as a benchmark for fiscal control over spending and other legislative efforts???
2010 was certainly a timestamp that put the skids on a lot of stuff, but we have seen how that effort has been squashed by the GOP leadership and the entrenched elites who tell you you just do not know how things work in politics these days...
Are you tired of that lunacy???
I believe you and I and a few thousand more folks, not millions, think as deep as you and I do on the matter...We are on the same page...That almost goes unsaid...
Good luck, how well has that worked out for us so far???
Not giving you a hard time, I understand your sentiments...This is just yet another shining example of how utterly ridiculous the way things are these days...And the feckless acceptance of the deteriorated processes and of this countries rule of law...
I used to see the value of the incumbent office holder...But even the ones I like, who actually do what they say they are going to do is turning into such a reduced list of characters, I do not see them being able to make the difference...
Until people like us across the country in one fatal swoop fire every single one of these schmups, and accept that they have been fooled for way too long, we will never see a change in the direction this country is heading at full speed...
It is a very gut wrenching decision YOU have to make...Some people cannot do it...
We will definitely see how well we flip this house in November...I personally do not see anyone with the political courage to do anything about this since the primaries have pretty much given us the usual suspects to have to vote on...
And they (GOP elites and leadership) want to set the tone for 2016 already with a weak-ass slate, before it is even presented...Wait till the dust settles later this year...
We can, and will, revisit this, I am sure of that...
Exactly 100% correct. Nicely said.
I appreciate the conversation and I did not get the impression you are giving me a hard time.
I read your entire post and it seems we agree.
