Alexander the Great. Stonewall Jackson. George S. Patton. To this list of some of history's greatest military strategists, a new name must be added: that of Barack Obama. That is, if you agree with Joe Scarborough's take on President Obama's statement at yesterday's press conference that "we don't have a strategy yet" regarding possible attacks on ISIS in Syria.
According to Scarborough, speaking on today's Morning Joe, President Obama's "no strategy" statement was "straight out of The Art of War where when you were weak, you make your enemies think you were strong. When you were strong, you make your enemies think you were weak." It's what Scarborough would have done, he told viewers, if he were president. When Sam Stein said that he couldn't tell if Joe was joking, Scarborough assured him: "I'm serious. Dead serious . . . I am dead serious. I am not joking."

Whoa. Field Marshal von Scarborough has spoken. That isn’t just an inert lump of flesh occupying the Oval Office, it’s just too subtle for us mere mortals to see that it’s conquering. And I’m Little Orphan Annie.
Obama is great at this. The United States of America is the strongest country in the world, and he makes us look disgustingly weak. Unfortunately, he is able to sustain that image for year after year.
The King wanted to test Sun Tsu’s theories, so he put 180 ladies of the household into two companies with his two favorite concubines in charge of the companies. When Sun Tsu gave his first command, the ladies started laughing. He explained that if the orders are not carried out because they are unclear, it is the general’s fault. He gave the order again and the ladies laughed. He explained that if the orders are not carried out but they are clear, it is the officers’ fault. The two concubines were executed and replaced. The ladies did the rest of the drill flawlessly.
Lincoln’s general’s had a strategy. More likely, he meant what Reagan said, “We win, they lose”. You’re giving Mr. “not present” way too much credit. After he’s out of office, he needs to write his own book. He should name it “The Art of Incompetence”. All the pages should be left blank.
Thanks Robert A. Cook, PE. Always leave your enemy an avenue of escape, such as getting a job with the Obama State Department of National Security Council. Or in Joe’s case, his head up his own ass, like an ostrich in peril.
