The last two Republican candidates for president have been among the weakest GOP candidates in 50 years.
Barack Obama presented Mitt Romney with a gift in 2012: A struggling economy, sluggish growth, a paucity of jobs, and a health care law that was extremely unpopular.
In what should have been a landslide rejection of Obama's policies, Romney flubbed it big time and allowed his opponent to define him - and Republicans - in the most unlfattering way imaginable.
You would have hoped that Romney would have retired from the public arena and kept a low profile as other losers have done in the past. Instead, the last few months have seen the former presidential candidate raising his public profile considerably, while apparently courting big money donors which is generating speculation he may make another run in 2016.
And now, a new poll out of Iowa may put some fire in his belly.

“Reagan didnt win the first time”
“But he DID win the second time”
Reagan won on his third try. His run for the GOP nomination against Nixon in 1968 gets overlooked. Nixon had many more years in politics, he had been Vice President, and Goldwater threw his support to Nixon early on. But Reagan made a presentable challenge.
His second attempt challenged Ford, the sitting GOP President. It’s tough to knock off an incumbent.
Romney hasn’t been challenging a GOP incumbent and he has more money than other challengers. So any weakness he has is due to his own flaws.
Romney was the very first GOP candidate of any office, big or small, that I refused to give my vote to. Didn’t vote for him in 2012, and I won’t vote for him in 2016.
There are more than a half dozen obviously better candidates....even if you want to discount Cruz, which I don’t, you can pick from a number of far more successful governors who actually implemented conservative solutions in tax policy, education, health care and reduction of government spending who far outshine a liberal failed governor from Massachusetts who’s achievements in office are all Democrat ideas.
The only way Romney is the better candidate in 2016 is if no one else of consequence ran and enough people had severe regrets about 2012 to revisit their error the last time. I don’t see either happening.
Oh, cool..we get to support another Loser. Not.
I guess the Bushes don’t won’t to see Cruz in the WH.
Reagen won the first time he ran for president; he did not win the primary running against Gerald Ford, the sitting president.
Hillary will beat Romney. Aren’t there any women that the “Republicans” can run against her? Someone the LSM and SNL can’t ridicule? Find someone uniquely qualified, not a freakin media celebrity.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting a different result. What we see is desperation in the RINO “ESTABLISHMENT”. The floated another bush— That failed. They floated a Northeasten liberal New Jersey Governor who is no good and got caught in dirty tricks— He failed. They lost the Paul Ruyan because he ( like Rubio) is for Amnesty of illegal alians. So they trot out Romney again. Romney is the father of government controlled health care. We don’t want him. We rejected him.Did he ever win 51% in any of the rigged “winner take all republican primaries”? NO!! We will not do the insanity over again.
If they did, she would be squishy Rino, who would give up to the One World Government the day OF Inauguration.
It might not matter who the GOP puts up.
Rush L was reading from a recent poll that had some 70% blaming the weak economy on the previous administration causing permanent damage, rather than the Obama policies. That figure was just UNDER 50% for the 2012 election.
The Republicans have nothing/no one who seems capable of countering that or presenting effective Republican policies.

Recent Rasmussen polling also shows some of the ‘sure turnover’ Senate seat races have tightened and can no longer be called for the Republican challengers. In fact, a couple of Republican seats may be in danger — McConnell in Kentucky and Roberts in Kansas.
No—Third Time is a charm—he will win and provide needed adult rule. He aint the same man he was when Gov. of Mass. He will get things moving—You can say he isn’t a Conservative—but he is all Capitalist. I would like him to pick Donald Trump as his VP OR Sarah Palin—Even Newt G. would be a good fiesty choice. I believe in a year he will be ranked with Truman and Reagan—He has the potential to be great. Why not? He was rolled in 2012—he needs REVENGE—There is nothing like a Mormon for revenge—they never forget. Watch as he comes on like Gangbusters! BUT, he will have to fight and prove himself in the primary. This will not be an easy election.
You are totally clueless to who and what Romney is.
Romney exists politically because he hates conservative America and how they have always opposed his liberal and political family, he would never choose a Reagan like Palin as veep, and he despised Reagan.
Romney is a dedicated pro-abortion, pro-gay scout leader, liberal, and his only win resulted in a one term failed governorship when he had to give up running for reelection, and left office with 34% approval, he is a disaster as a leader and politician.
No problem. I’ll just sit out the presidential election again, and will continue to do so, as long as they keep offering moderate (bland) RINOs who are indistinguishable from the dimmos on the moral issues.
Hillary will beat anyone put up against her in 2016.
There are plenty of Republican women that will vote her simply because she has a vagina. You can automatically write off Virginia. You think Terry McCauliff is there to govern? He is there to ensure it doesn’t go back to being red.
This doesn’t even take into account amnesty. Post amnesty so called battleground states will be solid blue. The new battleground states will be Texas and Arizona. Although no prize in winning these two as the Rats din’t need them to win.
The ballot box is no longer the way to affect change. The vote administrators, collectors, and counters can’t be trusted.
If Romney simply MUST run for national office again, perhaps he would accept second place on a ticket headed by Charles Manson?
Adult rule????? Ex-Lax gets "things moving." Ex Lax for POTUS. Romney for also ran. He is all capitalist???? No, he is a greedy "crony capitalist" type who would gladly manipulate the government for his own insider profits.
If Willard lives to be a million years old or even if he becomes the god of a planet of his own, he will still not be fit to shine the shoes of Ronaldus Maximus.
Willard is a gun grabber, a babykiller, a supporter of perversion posing as "marriage," a greedy pig of a trust fund baby, and has not a single social issue, military issue, veteran's issue, foreign policy issue to his name.
Willard LOST to Obozo and would lose to the Arkansas Medusa or Fauxcahontas. Have you no shame suggesting this elitist POS for POTUS much less comparing him as some sort of equal to Ronaldus Maximus????
HELL no!
“I love Cruz but I dont know if he could win.”
Just came back from Brazil. They also have an election this fall. They have 32 parties and there is not a one that does not have either of the words communist or socialist in its name. When asked why that was the case, the local said that without that in the name they cannot win elections.
