Apparently, carrying a concealed weapon for some PEOPLE is so second nature they don't realize when they've left their gun behind in a restroom.
A 76-year-old Oconomowoc man whose wife left a loaded handgun in a Brookfield church restroom this year left his own weapon in the restroom of a DOOR COUNTY fun park this month, according to sheriff's department reports.
The loaded Ruger .380-caliber was found, in a holster, on the floor of a men's room at the Egg Harbor Fun Park on Aug. 9. A patron of the park which features miniature golf, go-carts, arcade games and many other attractions for FAMILIES turned it in to the park's owner. The owner held it a few hours, assuming the owner would come back looking for the gun. When no one did, he called the sheriff's office.
Investigators traced the gun to Gerald Hitchler, who has a second home in Egg Harbor. Records SHOWED he had purchased the weapon in 2012 from a Gander Mountain store.
No one was hurt.
When a deputy CONTACTED Hitchler, he expressed shock that the gun was found at the fun park, though he acknowledged he had gone there with his wife. He told a deputy both he and his wife have permits to carry concealed weapons.

Ahhhhh! Help! Help! A gun!
Nothing happened and no one was hurt.
I think they must have been concerned if a child would have found it..
That would really be a bad scenario.
If you carry you’ve got to be aware of the associated responsibilities. You can’t forget for an instant.
They BOTH left pistols in restrooms ... exhibiting almost criminal negligence.
It would be interesting to know this couple’s political affiliation ...
So carry it, already.
Leaving it laying around where some curious kid might find it is a recipe for disaster. (Situational awareness begins at your holster.)
This is the kind of fear that some suburban folks have here in the Northeast!
You mean the gun didn’t jump up and chase people around the park??
The gun didn't go bat s*** crazy and shoot anyone on its own.
Good gun, good gun.
Maybe there just seniors who are forgetful and leave things around sometimes.
In any case, they shouldn’t take their guns with them when they leave the house, if they are so forgetful
I can remember a little twit enlisted girl came out of the latrine without her M-16 and another Captain said to her “Did you forget something?” Little twit goes “scuse me?” and then a look of horro came over her face and she scurried back in after it.
Perhaps.
But I smell a rat.
I’m sorry, but if a person doesn’t have more snafu than to leave their weapon in a restroom, they shouldn’t be carrying.
For me, that would be like leaving my foot.
If you shove your piece down into your pants while you’re doing your business, you won’t forget it. Plus, it’s not really visible to your “neighbors.”
Putting it on the back of the toilet is a bad idea, because it’s behind you, and out of sight, out of mind.
Oconomowoc...Oconomowoc...Oconomowoc...Oconomowoc
Try saying that four times drunk. Or just try saying it sober.
Vanna, could I buy a consonant?
Backfire power
Records SHOWED he had purchased THE weapon in 2012 FROM a Gander MOUNTAIN store.There... much better.
NO one was HURT.
When a deputy CONTACTED Hitchler, he expressed SHOCK that the gun WAS found at the FUN PARK, though he ACKNOWLEGED he had GONE there with his WIFE. He TOLD a DEPUTY BOTH he and his wife HAVE permits to CARRY concealed WEAPONS.
