The sad truth remains that 5% of FReepers support 100% of FR. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had 10% support? These things would wrap up in days, not months.
When I joined FR ten years ago, it was not uncommon to git 'er done in 7-10 days. It was less expensive 10 years ago, but, it really shouldn't take two months.
Not everybody can donate. I get that. But, I'm certain that we have some among the 95% that are FReeploading. Harsh words, but I know it's true.
Imagine no FR. No way to get the REAL news that affects us all. No pool of talent to ferret out the real truth. No ability to call BS when we see it.
The list goes on.
We need your help. We need new donors. We need new blood.
If you've never donated, give it a whirl. If you donate once in a while, try monthly donations. It's really painless.
Imagine a Freepathon that lasts days, not months.

.............obviously the “honor system” you speak of isn’t working too well if 5% pay 100%.
............accordingly, assuming that 5% does indeed pay 100%, obviously your “monthly” system is a little dysfunctional and in need of some polishing.
Oh well, I sent my money in. I hope some of the 95% that allegedly are “Freeploading” “get the memo” to pay up.
I just want to share this bit of info from my perspective, for whatever that is worth....I have been a member here for quite awhile, but I don’t really visit the site that often anymore, not because it isn’t a great forum for Conservatives and like minded folks, but because I have lost total interest in the political climate of the country, and as a Christian I am more concerned about the Spiritual health of the Country.
So I do pay a subscription service at another web-site that I think I might be able to make a difference to those who need to hear the truth of the Gospel and bring people back to the foundation of Christian principles and values that our country was founded on..
I am on this web-site with many college aged people, and I can tell you they are the ones that are truly lost in the wilderness....
Sometimes you just lose people because they have a different calling....
I guess when you find GOD calls you to another mission that is when you go....
So in that..I say best of everything to all the Good People that come here day after day...

I just installed it for free and got an update in a couple of minutes for my IE and Windows 7 Premium.
Now Comcast is loading in seconds instead getting hung up on monster ad programs.
The annoying popup and stay ads are not there. They remind me of the welfare people in our lives. They come in uninvited and take over.
Ad Muncher stopped working on the latest version of IE and Comcast. It does a great job with Google Chrome.
FR works off bandwith. Excerpting reduces that, and I don’t mind if people pimp their blogs by excerpting instead of posting the whole article. That IMO should be policy at FR to excerpt everything.
The other is the constant GOP bashing when the party is composed of thousands of members, officers, candidates, and officials. That broadbrush gets tiring to listen to.
A couple of reasons why I refuse to donate.

It’s my money son. You don’t spend it well, I don’t give it. That’s how a free market works. Guilting isn’t going to get me to move, you need to build that church and preach from that pulpit.
This site can be passworded at any time. The trolls, many of whom are liberal or libertarian fake conservatives, can be removed. The quality of discussion has suffered, and I spend most of my time on other sites because it’s become a dull echo chamber here with the regular knife thrown back and forth.
Fortunately for FR it is still a decent if declining news aggregator. If I found another one I’d be gone in a heartbeat. Most of the time I go to the front pages, avoid the threads, and go straight to the article sites.
Like I said, guilting or intimidating me isn’t going to get me to spend my money.
We seem to be at an impasse. You still seem to need money.
Free market hard knocks will learn ya eventually I suppose.

Amazing, you can feel smug and self righteous in not supporting a website you use, knock it and the posters therein over the rules for bloggers, whine about those same rules, then when someone comments on it, you feel indignant.

They did me a favor a year or so back and built another ATT tower. I generally get 3 or 4 bars.
Thanks for the kind words. I couldn’t be on the Internet without AdBlockPlus. Pages would take so long to download it would be impracticable.
