So wheres the wave? This is President Obamas sixth-year-itch election. The map of states with contested Senate seats could hardly be better from the Republicans vantage point. And the breaks this yearstrong candidates, avoidance of damaging gaffes, issues such as Obamacare and immigration that stir the party basehave mainly gone the GOPs way, very unlike 2012

A large majority, clearly. But the most important way to look at the problem is to look at the party’s “leadership”. They exert a great deal of influence on the rank and file through the party’s funding mechanisms and other support structures. The “leadership” weilds power in many ways, not all of which is financial. But money is paramount and is a very potent tool especially for younger pols.
The party apparatus is actually quite effective at bringing and keeping people in line. After awhile, our representatives forget the people who elected them and focus on the “direction” provided by the party. That is a fundamental problem when the party does not share the conservative beliefs of its base.
And the Independents hate Amnesty.
There, fixed it.
It somewhat amazes me that Warner is only up by 18 points.
Fair enough, thanks
GOPe fail bump for later.......
I think the ideal scenario would be to put enough conservatives in the senate to:
1)override a veto, and;
2) oust Harry Reid.
If Republicans win a Senate majority, the no. 1 result will be a huge amnesty law.
Thanks. I still manage a bit, even with only one eye open.
Do you know how many of your precious Republicans voted against Ruth Bader Ginsburg?
We need to make sure the establishment knows when the primaries come around we will come after them....every now and then we get a plum ala Eric Cantor...but never give a democrat a chance. If we can’t beat the incumbent then we force him further right in the spectrum.....we’re making a difference even when we lose!!
The best thing for the old guard is to sick more Ted Cruzes on them!!
Larry Sabato has always favored the RATS.
I was referring to the 2012 Senate race. I believe it was Allen. He was chosen because he was the ‘right’ candidate who could ‘win’. I have no issues with Allen, but he was the chosen one for that race by the party. Their track record is pathetic, but they’ll rattle off the same old tired list of seats the ‘tea party’ post. Ignoring the dozens of seats they’ve lost since 2006.
Your points about Cuccinelli last year are 100% valid. In fact, this might have been the opening act of the party’s betrayals in 2014. Now they want our votes...bwahahaha.
I want what you want. That is strength, common sense, and small government. Above all else a restoration to true Christian values, and the constitution. Also someone that won’t back down. A President, and congress that have the stones to slander islam and understand the mortal peril western civilization is in. Protect Israel openly, and close the southern border and defend it.
Name me one career politician that has been exactly what you want in the past 20 years.
I didn’t say anything about the GOP or RINOS, or republicans. I simply said to vote whoever will closest represent what you want and believe. The point I’m trying to make is that all men are going to make mistakes, you’re never going to get anyone that is perfect. Only degrees of better and worse. So since you can’t have perfect, you don’t vote...and Obama wins.
I honestly believe that staying home and not voting at all is a mistake. I honestly believe that these are the years that matter the most for the survival of this country. The GOP and candidates that are supposed to represent us, aren’t doing anything. No one (a few exceptions) will stand up and fight the evil that has infected America. It may not even matter if you vote, we may have passed the point of no return. Inaction is in this case is the greatest evil.
So, stay home. Let socialist islamic sympathizers win with no fight. We know what happens if people like Obama are allowed to win, well we haven’t seen anything yet. If you think Obama is bad, just wait and see what we’re going to get when they realize the Christian conservatives, and true American patriots aren’t voting anymore. At least go out and vote for a write in. I didn’t say GOP.
I lot of whiners here seem to want them to keep the Senate, but guess what, they will not. They will lose.
What makes you think I’m not going to vote?
I’m just not going to vote for the Republican if I don’t believe they’ll represent my views.
There are usually plenty of candidates outside of the Washington Uniparty.
It is not about “perfect”. It is about “acceptable”, and is completely wrapped up in the individual candidates for the individual offices.
You really have bought the BS hook, line, and sinker.
Romney was not only not perfect, he didn't even match his own party platform on abortion, amnesty, 2nd-amendment, socialized medicine, and big government.
I'm not looking for perfect, no-one has been.
THAT IS A LIE SPREAD BY THE GOP-E.
How about a candidate that matches the republican party platform.
I will continue to vote for conservatives.
They may be third party, but they will be conservative.
Sell your BS elsewhere.

That is not enough anymore.
It never was, but many deluded themselves into thinking that maybe the pandering candidate would deliver. And now were not even getting lip service, just an implied threat and the back of the GOP's hand.
Like the others I plan on voting as well. But I have no loyalty to the GOP anymore because they've shown none to me.
