It's awful; the hundreds of black youth killed by white police in Chicago each year. (sarcasm)

Perhaps it's time that the violent neighborhoods in Chicago be told to police themselves (not sarcasm)

Notice that the race of the cops is omitted, probably because they are black. Chicago’s police force is 33% black, 31% white, and 25% Hispanic. 88% of its policemen live in the city.
Long ago Chicago adopted community policing so that patrol officers match their neighborhoods as closely as possible. North Lawndale has been overwhelmingly black and gang dominated for decades, so I assume the officers were black and/or Hispanic.
