Notice that the race of the cops is omitted, probably because they are black. Chicago’s police force is 33% black, 31% white, and 25% Hispanic. 88% of its policemen live in the city.
Long ago Chicago adopted community policing so that patrol officers match their neighborhoods as closely as possible. North Lawndale has been overwhelmingly black and gang dominated for decades, so I assume the officers were black and/or Hispanic.

Where did you come up with those numbers? The CPD is closer to 60% white and 20/20 black and hispanic.

To be employed by the CPD you have to live in Chicago. This has been the rule for 100 years so I don’t know where that 88% came from.

Community policing has nothing to do with same race patrols. Community policing or “CAPS” is a way for officers to meet citizens on their beats by having monthly meetings usually located at a park district. Citizens can express their concerns about community problems.

The majority off the “fast” districts are patrolled by white or hispanic Patrolman. The black cops like the slow areas and try to get into inside spots or work in white areas. Its same way with firemen, garbageman, mailmen etc. Most of them are LAZY or afraid of their own people.
