The politicians are already paying people to vote. This will just transfer the cost of buying votes to—surprise—the taxpayers.

The collective IQ of the Los Angeles city council couldn’t best the wind speed of a class 5 hurricane.

There would probably be about half as much warm humid wind though.

Another thing like the numbers racket that is illegal if private parties do it, but becomes a liberal program for the government to carry out.
