Elections: The city of Los Angeles is considering paying voters to encourage turnout. Needless to say, it's a ridiculous idea that will reward low-information voting, foster political demagogues and breed corruption.
Sure, some in the political class will say what's not to like? Higher voter turnout sounds good and, more to the point, the political left likely will benefit from paying people to vote.
This is what's done, officially or not, in places like Venezuela, Central America and southern Mexico, where the political class doles the goodies and subliterate voters sell their votes for bags of beans. Lots of left-wing demagogues have been elected on populist waves.

LA, the home of dumb.
Hey...wait just a minute...I live in L.A.
And yes you are right!

*Anything to quicken the collapse into complete insolvency.

DARK AGES MACH II
2025-2525

Another thing like the numbers racket that is illegal if private parties do it, but becomes a liberal program for the government to carry out.
If it is legal to pay people to vote wouldn’t it also be legal to pay them not to vote?
If brains were leather they couldn't saddle a gnat.
Bingo. I was opposed to same-day registration because I felt that if someone was so politically clueless that he or she didn't know that you had to register in advance, I didn't want the person voting.
Trust me ES I wouldn’t pass this on our City council they are f**** crazy
Why were they motivated to come up with this? They run (into the ground) the place already.
LOL
