An officer who was working at the Ferguson protests was caught on camera pointing a semi-automatic weapon at a peaceful demonstrator and saying "I will f****ng kill you." Yesterday, it was announced the police officer was suspended indefinitely.
The incident just before midnight on Tuesday punctuated the 11th straight night of racially charged demonstrations in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri, since Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old, was slain by a white police officer.
No one was hurt in the gun-pointing confrontation, but the incident underscored what many have criticized as heavy-handed and unprofessional police tactics that have helped stoke continuing civil unrest.
According to an official account from the St. Louis County Police Department, an unnamed policeman from the neighboring community of St. Ann leveled his weapon at a Ferguson protester "after a verbal exchange," and that a superior county officer, a sergeant, quickly intervened.
According to a statement from the county police department, the sergeant "immediately took action, forcing the officer to lower the weapon and escorting him away from the area."
At one point, he is heard yelling, "I will f****ng kill you, get back, get back," before the sergeant calmly steps in to defuse the situation, orders him to lower the weapon and leads him away from cameras.
"The unified command strongly feel these actions are inappropriate, and not indicative of the officers who have worked daily to keep the peace," the police statement said.
It said the officer in question had been relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely but gave no further details of any investigation or discipline he might face.
“The stunned reporters can barely believe what just happened.”
Are they?
Considering they have been stoking the fire ever since this happened...I wonder if they don’t want full blow chaos for news stories and time on TV...gotta get paid by those advertisers!
Maybe he is on their payroll. Stranger things have happened.
Roid cop, meet perpetually aggrieved. Perpetually aggrieved, roid cop. Play nice.
Ferguson PD did the right thing.
They fail to mention that just before the incident the protesters threw a bottle of piss on the cop. Just an oversight I’m sure?

Just made that up did you? How about a link to prove it.
Even if it was true, is throwing piss now a death-penalty case with judge, jury and executioner being your local fat cop with an attitude problem?
Communist tactics don't change much.
Very probable. Humans being human can't help being human or something less than human. Being human is always better than becoming something less. Everyone fails in the quest to be human, myself included. Being less than human is what causes problems for everyone. Don't have the solution, only know suspension is proper for an incident as this. Not lecturing anyone and am simply preaching to the choir. There are enough problems in Ferguson and PD did right in placing the Officer under suspension. Everyone becomes angry at some point sooner or later just don't threaten when becoming angry and one will remain human in the heat of the moment (imho). Being human is hard. Being something less than a human is rioting, looting, murdering, throwing piss on an Officer of the Law or doing something in equal to achieve the status of becoming less than human. People are killed every day by those that become less than human. Is so easy to fall from human status.
I’m glad I’m not the only one to notice that since outsiders have taken over for those “bungling” Ferguson cops, things only got worse.
What a silly thing to say. He was no "judge, jury or executioner". He didn't shoot anyone. I watched the video and the cop was certainly pissed but the whole time he had his finger off the trigger.
I agree that he should not have been pointing what appears to be a full auto weapon at anyone. That was just dumb as what he said was. It was stupid he was out on the street in the middle of that crowd basically alone in a cluster of people.
The whole situation was badly handled but it sure seems like this guy is in the wrong line of work. Still, he did not "execute" anyone nor did the cop that shot the thug in the first place.
I want to Thank Officer Wilson. The more I learn about Officer Wilson the more recognize Officer Wilson remained human in the face of the one that became less than human. Justifiable Officer Wilson. In a sane world ... Officer Wilson would be given another commendation. Regrettably the humans do not live in a sane world. My apology Officer Wilson for the non-humans encountered. Wish we lived in sane world Officer Wilson. Want to shake your hand, Sir, when both of us reach the other side. That would be a fortunate hand shake for me, Sir. Long life wished upon you, Officer Wilson. PDs need people that are human.

He didn’t kill them, but he was justly pissed off at them.
Guess what Skippy, toss a bottle of piss on me and see what happens.
I too would have made a terrible Police Officer during my time on this planet. One day maybe can remain and maintain human status.

Good, and you’d find yourself in prison, just like this fat pig should be.
...another internet warrior, sitting safely behind his computer anonymously threatening people - do you even take yourself seriously?
I would ask first...how many nights has he worked the protests? Burn-out could be a huge factor.
Yes, he should have been removed/suspended. But I’d also question the mental state of officers repeatedly put essentially in the line of fire.
Again, this is where the cops separate from the National Guard. For the safety and mental health of all involved the NG should have been put on the line.
Hold on thar ... why put someone in prison for being angry but not following through on that anger and harming someone. Do Police not have the right to become angry? Emotions sometimes run high. And I’m an internet warrior too ... lol. Calling FR internet warriors. Bring on the Kittehs!
I am pretty sure threatening to kill someone is a crime. Cop or no cop. If cop’s want the presumption of being right, they need to be held to a much, much higher standard.
