It seems like the world, or at least the media world, is obsessed with the happenings in Ferguson, Mo. No detail is too insignificant to speculate about, no matter how wild the speculation. I know more about it than I should, and I bet you do too.
Weve been marinated in best guesses, wild speculation, hypotheticals and enough flat-out lies to make Tommy Flanagan blush. At this point, about the only thing we dont know is what actually happened. But even after all this, I still cant bring myself to care about any of it.
Maybe it has to do with the lies: Michael Brown was shot in the back! Well, he actually wasnt. Nor was he about to start college, or a sweet, innocent child whod never done anything to anyone. He was a human being with all the stupidity and potential that goes along with that existence.
How he ended up dead in the street probably never will be known. And even if we found out, I doubt it would matter. People on all sides have made up their minds to the point that no story, no set of facts, will change their minds. They range from Mike Brown was a thug to Officer Darren Wilson is a racist who was looking to shoot a black man, and everything in between. All of which is mindlessly simplistic, and none of which is true.
I dont know what happened that day, though I have a guess just like everything else. Its more complicated than much of what you hear on TV, but its just as irrelevant.
More importantly, and perhaps more oddly: I dont care.
I didnt know Mike Brown, nor do I know Darren Wilson. Unlike many people interviewed on TV, I feel no kinship with either. Ive known people whove died, committed suicide and been murdered, and Ive felt something for all of them because I knew them. I dont know these people.
Ive also been harassed by police, pulled over and searched and asked What are you doing here? for simply driving a piece-of-junk car in a nice neighborhood.
I feel sorry for the Brown family for losing a child, and I feel for the Wilson family because no matter what happened, his life is pretty much over. Brown will be buried; Wilson will be hunted and haunted, guilty or innocent.
I get the professional grievance industry and why theyre in Ferguson theres money and political power to be had. But I dont get people taking to the streets. Protesters (not the rioters, theyre simply scum) march under the belief that police are shooting black men like, well, they were black men themselves.
There is nothing more dangerous to a black man then another black man, but that doesnt warrant marches or any lasting movement. Only when a white person is involved does it seem to matter to community activists and politicians. Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, etc., might as well not exist to them.
If they care so deeply about black people being killed why dont they mention where black people are being shot and killed at a Third World rate? Again, because theres no money or power in it. Theyve already got their support and votes, and those arent going anywhere, so they dont have to even pay lip service to caring.
The progressive agenda of you are your race first, American second pays off in these situations. People having been inundated with the message that you should feel part of a community based on skin pigment makes it easy to manipulate them into believing what happens to one, happens to all. But only when someone with different skin pigment does it matter.
Its sick, its sad, its racist, its progressive.
Im not a progressive, so I dont feel a kinship with people who share common traits with me or my ancestors, only people I know. Crazy, right?
So when a black off-duty police officer shot and killed an unarmed white man on the side of a freeway in Maryland and was found not guilty because the man was charging at him in a fit of road rage, I thought to myself Well, our justice system has spoken. The jury heard the evidence—I didnt—and drew a conclusion. I didnt demand his head or take to the streets until I found out why pulled off the road to have the confrontation in the first place. The jury heard the evidence in the justice system, where it belongs, and delivered their verdict.
But the calls for justice in Ferguson are nothing close to the definition of justice. Those calls are not for following the evidence wherever it leads. Theyre calls for a mans head regardless of what happened that day. There are lots of words for that, none of which are justice.
What happens next will be under a cloud of suspicion no matter what. Progressives and their fellow travellers in the media will keep a lid on the facts, leaking only what fits their narrative. People will make fools of themselves. People will become media celebrities. Lawyers will get rich. And the two men involved eventually will be forgotten until the next time the media finds a story it decides matters more than the scores of black men murdered by other black men, and ratings can be made. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Im getting off the merry-go-round by not caring in the first place. Ill still talk about the race-baiting and the media manipulation meant to divide us as human beings, but thats it. I cant stop the ride in Ferguson by myself. I cant change its course, but Im damn sure not going to be a party to it. If you want to get wrapped up in events that dont affect your life, if you want to be a pawn in the progressives manipulation game, knock yourself out. But like global, thermal, nuclear war in War Games, the only way to win is not to play. Thats the only way to stop this progressive political and media monster of manipulation and division.
I cant be the only one, can I?
No one really cares. The whole charade is needed to distract from various failures - Obama, Democrats, black culture. A big election is coming up and Democrats are losing.

Apparently the officer in the Michael Brown case was injured, this pair shot this guy within 45 seconds of arriving.
They are overbearing and trigger happy.
I am sick sick sick of “at least the officer went home to his family safe”, it is not about the officer, it is about the officer’s job to serve and protect the people he is hired to serve and protect. Instead some of them act like judge, jury and executioner with no authority to do so. Look, I used to read news stories about cops fighting bad guys, chasing bad guys, now they just shoot them. Thing is the guys they are shooting on a relative scale are less bad than some in our government and some who reside in marble elevatored offices.
I despise living in a police state. I hate it. It is wrong and it is not Constitutional. It is abuse of power by the executive and I am sick of it.
If he really didn't care, he'd have enough to last him for two days of not caring.
I quit caring about what he had to say when he told Tea Partiers to "get over" Mississippi (Cochran).
Then leave.
Go to England where cops are as unarmed as the public.
Or find some other country where you are not in a "Police State". Good luck.
Apathy is alive and well and has been since the Clintoon Adminstration. Apathy is the reason we are in this fix in the first place.....
Anyone else catch the subtlety here?
I am going to stay here and resist the police state and try to get things closer to what they should be. The police are our servants, P-Marlowe.
Our government is out of control. The police state is part of the problem.
I care that the Rule of Law is being ignored by the Feds, the street bums and by media. How far we have fallen.

Wow... Thanks for that... You have pinned the best view I have read on the matter thus far....
I feel very much as you do...
There is ONE thing for sure.... Wilson WILL be prosecuted by the feds come hell or high water... They tried to nail Zimmerman with the "denying civil rights" crap but it was to big of a reach... But for a white cop...well, I,m sure he has enemies to spare...
The media has created and is fueling this “crisis”. If everyone quits watching, it will go away. These temper tantrums occur as predictably as the changing of the seasons.
Which is why I also roll my eyes and shake my head every time I see one of these “Stop the violence!” marches.
This piece has some good points.
This case, princess Diana, Robin Williams, etc. Who gives a $hit. Our military people? That is a different story. I don’t know them but I care about them.
Thats the correct perspective.
I don't know where you live, but the police never bother me.
As for your claim that cops are trigger happy, when I was growing up, they could shoot you in the back if you ran from them. That didn't change until 1985.
Now that the cops basically can't shoot anyone unless they are first shot at, it seems reasonable to me that they should be equipped with the best defensive gear possible and much of that gear looks like something the military would use, helmets, shields, body armor...
Just tell me, how many times in the last 5 years have you been hassled by the police or otherwise subjected to a violation of your Constitutional rights (not counting the TSA lines at the airport)?
BTW, when you say you are going to "resist the police state" does that mean you are supporting they lynch mob in Ferguson? Are you one of the "We are Michael Brown" crowd?
the police bother the teens that live around here, in fact, I have been on the phone with the police chief about lightening up. They bother my clients. Some act like everybody is a bad guy. Some are unpleasant and overbearing and on steroids which make them have a nasty temper.
Some... bother...Some act.... Some are unpleasant...
Yeah, that certainly sounds like you live in Nazi Germany or Present day Mosul. You don't even know what a "police state" is.
You just HATE COPS!
I resent cops killing people’s dogs, punching women in the face on the highway, shooting trucks that have nothing to do with who they are looking for, shooting people at the drop of a hat
--John Donne
This is another way to look at it. There is an unrest in this country, and Ferguson is just a visible microcosm of that unrest. Many would say, myself included, certain leaders are looking to fan the flames of unrest. What if the flames of unrest in Ferguson, MO, spread to your community, to the place where you live? There will be all-out riots, and our law enforcement will be too weak in numbers to handle it all. If you're not prepared, you too will become a victim. It will be unpredictable. The "rule of law" will not exist in some places; it will become "rule by mob."
Do you think you might be spared because "you didn't care?"
What you are describing is not a rampant police state but a few sociopathic people who happen to be cops.
As I said you have no idea what a Police State is and it appears that you are just a knee jerk cop hater.
Now are you, or are you not, one of the "We are Mike Brown" crowd who wants to lynch Darren Wilson? Are you that far gone?
nope
