...."I hate that you and your family must join this exclusive yet growing group of parents and relatives who have lost loved ones to senseless gun violence" she writes in the letter published in Time magazine. "But Michael is much more than a police/gun violence case; Michael is your son."
Two and a half years ago on Feb. 27, 2012, Fulton's son was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a volunteer neighborhood watch captain. The case quickly drew national attention as weeks went by without formal charges....

It is painful to be a piss poor mother.
It’s not a mother’s role to teach their male offspring to be men. That’s the father’s role.
Thank you liberals!
I’m going to go counter to the sentiment here. Both these women lost sons and they are grieving. There is sympathy in my heart for them. I don’t know their family situations and whether or not they were “good” parents.
Who has not known a family who appears to have done everything right raising their children, but despite that, there was a black sheep who chose the wrong path in life and caused their families great pain and hardship? Humans have free will and they alone are responsible for their actions, especially when they become adults.
Sure, these women are being manipulated. They’re looking for anyone to blame except the child they loved and it’s very easy to morph sorrow into anger.
This time, I’m taking a wait and see attitude rather than jumping to the stereotypical conclusions.
This time, I’m going to let the investigation proceed before forming an opinion.
This time, I’m going to search my soul and empathize with the families who have lost loved ones because that could be me, or you, or anyone.
She should. Both moms “raised” thugs.
Wow. They need to start a new organization: “Cash-seeking Parents of Deceased Thugs Against Guns.”
Better to be a live racist than a dead diversity lover.
Exactly. This is her job now.
They are the ones who are doing most murders, rapes and assaults in America. Usually against their fellow blacks but they do branch out to whitey, Asians and others sometimes. Black rape of white women is 100 or a 1000 times more likely than white rape of black women. FBI stats show this
Women who have children out of a stable home also are responsible for their children. It is not all the fault of just the man.
Oh, I wasn’t alleviating the responsibility of the woman.
She shouldn’t have performed the necessary behaviors leading up to the conception of the little bastard.
Make sure the man is marriageable. Marry him. Then satisfy your mating call.
So, the moms of dead thugs are sharing their pain.
How about the moms of innocent victims, regardless of their color? Where are they? I bet they outnumber thug’s moms by a million to one.
Guess they don’t help the cause, so they are ignored.
Beside the fact that he son was a violent thug, who caused his own death, Sybina Fulton can only be called Trayon’s “mother” in the most technical sense.
His step mother raised him for the vast majority of his short life and it was after his “father” divorced her and he was separated from her that he went bad and started to become a thug.
Trayvon was in Sanford in the first place because Sybina kicked him out of the house and sent him to live with his “father”>
Young black males are a protected class. They have a right to give other people @$$-whoopings, and anybody who defends themselves is RACIST.
You are right. That girlfriend of Trayvon’s, on the witness stand in court, said that Trayvon did not mean to hurt Zimmerman, but just wanted to give him an “ass whooping”. It’s right there in the court transcript.
In Zimmerman’s case, he was racist for not being aware enough of ghetto culture, to understand that he was supposed to suffer this ass whooping because that’s what ghetto folks do. He was racist for being in fear of his life. (sarcasm)
As more comes out in this Brown case, we find out this dude was not the gentle giant young man. There is still an untold story. And it could well be the policeman was in fear for his life as he was being charged by a young man intent on ass whooping a cop. And we’re supposed to honor ghetto culture and take our ass whoopings, apparently.
Let me give future Trayvons mothers a bit of advice on avoiding the same fate.
Find a marriageable man, marry him, THEN have sex.
Problem solved, across the board.
And I would add to your advice, actually take care of your kids and actually do the job of raising your kids.
Trayvon’s mother did not raise him full time after the age of 2. He was brought up in various ad hoc arrangements. HIS MOTHER DID NOT EVEN RAISE HIM. Yet she goes around the country, pulling this grieving mother act. It’s disgusting in my opinion. How much did she care about that boy while he was alive and going down the wrong road????
FBI stats show that white men raping black women barely shows up in the crime statistics, it is that rare of a crime.
Another word from the grieving Mom that wasn’t even raising her son! What is this when after the fact these poor Moms come out and cry about how sad it is that there sons were killed when the raising of these sons was handed off to a third party. Some how I don’t have any feelings for the absent Moms that whine after the fact.
I hear what you are saying, and agree we need to let this investigation play out.
I think why many are upset here, is because of liberal racial biases that we are supposed to make excuses for ghetto culture and the bad choices these young men made.
In the Brown case, I agree with you to the extent that, the penalty for shoplifting or petty crime, is not to be shot by the police. I too withhold judgement as we wait for the official investigation into this police shooting.
I can empathize with families who have “bad seeds”. But it seems that the ghetto culture spawns many more such people than do middle class families.
Do these two “mothers” share the pain of being bad mothers, raising thugs who attack people? That should be their pain...and shame.
