Missouri's governor ordered the National Guard onto the streets of Ferguson early Monday after another night of violence following the shooting by police of an unarmed black teen. "Tonight, a day of hope, prayers, and peaceful protests was marred by the violent criminal acts of an organized and growing number of individuals, many from outside the community and state, whose actions are putting the residents and businesses of Ferguson at risk," Gov. Jay Nixon said in a statement. "Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard to assist Colonel Ron Replogle and the Unified Command in restoring peace and order to this community.”

Ah, I was thinking it might have been one of the small towns right outside where I got lost once and was scared to death. Everybody staring at me like, we know you’re lost.
The National Guard prepare and train for riots and large civil disturbances, they have the equipment, tear gas and vehicles to do so.
If the cops can’t contain it fast, the NG needs to be brought in. It’s exactly what they are for. The idiot government should have brought then in by about day 2 or maybe 3...

I'd be happier with residents in Ferguson (and the rest of the country) arming up to protect themselves - and let the ghetto rats whose single mothers are dependent on government to do everything for them, do as they are doing to their own 'hoods'. And then when they are left with nothing, some parenting might evolve back in that culture.
If not - then hopefully they wither away like Detroit.

I don’t know the specifics about these guys, but I know that in the Rodney King riot, everyone they called up had riot training, and each of them had to sign a document acknowledging they had it.
There was a multi-step protocol regarding weapons, that started with rifle on sling, magazine in pouch and ran to rifle at port arms, magazine in weapon, round in chamber. The choice of which exact step the troops were on was usually made by the on-scene commander. The sound of a squad suddenly chambering a round proved to a useful deterrent.

If this neighborhood had problems like some of those big cities, I guess it might be different.
I think it will motivate the whites, Hispanic (legal/hardworking-not illegals) and Asians to turn out in really high numbers. With welfare blacks at < 13% of population, if BOTH sides get motivated I think it’s going to be a conservative landslide.
