I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like to talk to you about buying if you believe any elected official is not political.

They are criminalizing politics.

If the governor is wrong, a judge can order the money reinstated. Or the legislature can demand it. A felony prosecution yet another abuse of power.

Earlier, he enjoyed bipartisan support for what would have been the crowning accomplishment of his career — being named by President Barack Obama as the U.S. attorney in San Antonio.

The White Hut Lizard Queen picked up the phone.

The whole thing is so crazy that the prosecutor should be run out of Texas while wearing a tar and feathers outfit.

This is partisan on it’s face. Ergo the prosecutor is partisan and Perry should go after him criminally violating Texas law.

The Dallas Morning News is a liberal rag (I have been avoiding reading its contents for the last 30 years), the southwestern equivalent of the NYT.

Proving exactly nothing. Prosecutors, Judges, and wannabees in those professions are not making contributions or even making controversial statements anymore.

Valerie Plame prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald was supposedly nonpartisan. He was even vouched for by the reliably conservative prosecutor Andrew McCarthy. But his actions in repeatedly dragging Scooter Libby and Karl Rover before a Grand Jury in order to catch them in a process crime having nothing to do with the original case speaks most eloquently about the type of person -- and type of partisan -- he really is.

Any time you hear the media claiming a prosecutor is non-partisan, you can make book on his being a Democrat. It's a lock.

I can’t recall any veto by any elected executive that wasn’t for political reasons. This whole thing is absurd. That doesn’t mean that in 2014 America it won’t be successful.

As if Cornman and Hutchinson are creditable endorsements?

What you all do not understand is our gutless Republican legislature has continued to NOT remove all power to investigate state crimes from these Bolsheviks.

Perfect example of not having the guts to cure the cancer when it is small and not raging out of control.

McCrum; the DNC and RINO appointed a political hitman to take out Perry. I may not like Perry's point of view regarding illegals, but when both parties are in full blown character assassination mode, I take notice. Apparently, Perry has rattled some cages, and those being rattled want to quiet down the rattling before too many people notice, and start asking uncomfortable questions of their elected officials.

I’ll bet he “served in Iraq and voted for Bush, twice!” ROTFL! Those bringing these frivolous DemocRAT Special of the Day, “Ham Sandwich indictments” should be charged themselves if it is found that the indicted individual committed no crime. Our “courts” should not be used as political weapons around election time.

Based on this article I don’t know why McCrum is not the governor, president and Pope. My God he is the most perfect human being on earth.

Even though he is a scumbag lying defense attorney and just did one of the most outrageous things most people ever heard of.

With a straight face he says Perry should face 100 years in prison for vetoing a drunk’s budget.

There is a proper, constitutional, prudent course for legislatures stop vetoes. If that avenue is properly followed, no matter the outcome, this entire episode should be moot. This matter may not properly be brought before the Courts.

The important point here is if we can criminalize otheriwse lawful decisions made by an elected official, based on their personal reasoning, then the stack of indictments against Obama should have buried Washington back in 2010.
This tortured “legal reasoning” is far more dangerous than an idiot in charge (Perry is not the idiot to which I refer)...

?

Ever hear of Tom "The Hammer" DeLay? House Rep from TX who got things done was embroiled in an indictment by an Austin prosecutor which went on 4 years before DeLay was cleared. By then his political life was over and his pocket book was about empty.

Then there were false accusations about Kay Bailey Hutchinson which came to nothing.

I think when these political indictments come to nothing, the prosecutor ought to have to reimburse the defendant for the court costs, plus damage compensation.

I guess that from now on all executive vetoes are subject to judicial review.
