The feds want to perform their own autopsy on Michael Brown, the unarmed teen shot dead by local police in Ferguson, Missouri, a week ago.
"Due to the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case and at the request of the Brown family, Attorney General Holder has instructed Justice Department officials to arrange for an additional autopsy to be performed by a federal medical examiner," Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon said in statement. "This independent examination will take place as soon as possible. Even after it is complete, Justice Department officials still plan to take the state-performed autopsy into account in the course of their investigation."

One thing that I can confidently predict is that whites won’t riot if the police officer is found guilty of a crime connected with the death of Michael Brown.
That’s an interesting point. DOJ helps gin things up so that it can become an issue for them to investigate.

Have not found budget documents reflecting ownership, maintnenace, upkeep, etc. My opinion is those vehicles were from an adjoining city.
Of course, if they were owned by the city, there is no budget for them to maintain the vehicles, so, that would mean funding from an outside source (fed gov?), but hey, I find no references in the budget docs reflecting outside funding for city assets/programs (other than highway maintenance), and we all KNOW the media never gets anything wrong.

Usually they are recording all the time, with a ‘marker’ on the tape when lights are turned on, thereby marking the recording to the relevant part of a stop. . .kind of like having a huge bound notebook documenting everything you did all day and when something happens, when you go to court and the entire book is entered into evidence. Talk about noise and distraction. Anyway, unless you can mark/extract the exact data from the exact time, the entire recording is placed in evidence. . .not a problem but with defense lawyers the way they are, what is the point of putting into evidence a recording of a previous shift where the officer was having lunch in his car? With the marker the recording is identified and can be extracted for court action.
Dash cams face forward; from the pics I’ve seen, the action to place to rear-oblique. They’re mainly for traffic stops.
Maybe we should start equipping police cars with Google cams?
Have you seen pictures of Ferguson, not where the protests are, where the people live? It looks like a decent place, with small homes with nice green lawns and sidewalks.
Cameras and dash board computers for police are usually funded by the federal government, mostly in White neighborhoods because, they would be considered harassment in a Black neighborhood. It has been my experience that technology, like dashboard computers and chip imbedded license plate tabs do result in police harassment, but it is not exactly racial, though it can be personal.

P.S. The ‘stories’ say Mike stole cigars. What he stole was WRAPS. They don’t have tobacco rolled up in the tobacco leaf, they are empty.

There was an assistant to one of the reporters ON SITE at the riots in Ferguson last night who didn’t stay BACK from the protesters, but tried to mingle in. When the SHTF and teargas grenades and smoke bombs were fired, he was ‘jostled’ by the fleeing crowd. Jostled as in a compound fracture to his arm.
Wanna bet the “justice” department indicts the White cop for murder and civil rights violation?
That’s where this is going.
Then the PD will be ordered to increase its “diversity” (meaning hire incompetents based on their skin shade).
