The indictment of Gov. Rick Perry by a grand jury in Travis County, Texas, is part of a power struggle that originates with a serious crime, albeit not one committed by Gov. Perry.
That crime, as everyone knows by now, is drunk driving, and it was committed by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg.
When Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, Democrat, was arrested and charged with drunk driving on April 12, 2013, her blood alcohol level measured .23.
That is just shy of three times the legal limit in Texas, which is .08.
According to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Lehmberg must have consumed about 10 alcoholic drinks in one hour to achieve a .23 blood alcohol rating.
District Attorney Lehmberg also had an open bottle of vodka in her car, violating Texas longstanding open container law.

From January 2012 to April 2013 15 months Lehmberg made 59 purchases of alcohol at various Twin Liquors stores, a rate of nearly one purchase a week.
She bought 76 bottles of alcohol. According to the receipts, Lehmberg prefers Ciroc vodka. Lehmberg routinely purchased 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, at a price of nearly $60 each. On occasions, she bought more than one 1.75 liter bottle of Ciroc at a time.
Those 76 bottles add up to 24.7 gallons of alcohol purchased over 15 months. The last purchase in the KEYE-compiled list was on April 2, 2013 10 days before her arrest for drunk driving, and the subsequent attempt to abuse her power by trying to intimidate the officers who processed her in jail. Lehmberg purchased vodka on that day. An open bottle of vodka was found in her car during her arrest.

She lost her law license for 6 months - but was allowed to continue to work?
Exactly, these are the purchases of which we are aware thus far.
The ENTIRE video is shocking.
If it were an ordinary citizen or non-political lawyer, they would have been fired and if a lawyer permanently disbarred.
I hope Perry ultimately sues all for liability personally and makes the city pay. She is lucky she did not have a car accident with injuries.
The full video shows her kicking the door, and worse. They had to do a blood draw. (see implied consent DWI rules)
If this was a republican prosecutor the entire staff would be under federal investigation.
If federal judges did not all come from the DOJ prosecutors, there would be a glimmer of hope for justice.
Perry needs to go texas on her.
She probably acted only as a supervisor with no real work. He client is the government so how that has no client contact is a mystery.
Not enough conservatives are running for local offices. (at least not running with any political tactics to actually winning an election)
I understand about not having conservatives run. We lived in a small town where folks were very conservative, but had voted dem all of their lives and a republican just couldn’t win anything
This prez does what benefits HIM.
She actually blew a .239, not the .29 I posted up thread. Some news article left out the 3 and reported a .29 BAC. This is political payback for her office.
She also drank wine on a regular basis. One of her neighbors called in and said her recycle container sounded like breaking glass every time the trucks came by.
“So, what do we do about it???”
For the believer:
1) We keep on believing God and loving God and others.
Christ’s commandments (His words spoken in the gospels and the epistles).
John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him.
How?
- The way He says to love in His Word:
Matthew 22:37-40
John 13:34-35
Matthew 5:44
Faith (Hebrews 11:6)—taking God at His Word and acting, thinking, speaking accordingly
- in the power of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26; John 16:13-15; Romans 15:13)
- in accordance with God’s Will & Word
- in dependence on God
- with humility before God
- realizing we can do nothing of ourselves, it is all of Him; we belong to Him, and He is our satisfaction and sufficiency; He is making us perfect, that is, completing us in Christ, transforming us into His image. One day we will be a finished (perfect) work.
2) Rest in Him, pray to Him; wait for His answer.
3) Read, study His Word to know more and more of Him and His truth, receive His directions for life, be at peace in a world of turmoil and evil.
4) Realize He is able to save forever (completely) those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25)
5) Seek to have fellowship with other believers for encouragement, growth, discernment.
6) Treat people the way you want them to treat you. But realize what our relationship is with the world.
(John 17:13-26, Jesus’ prayer for His disciples before His betrayal and arrest)
7) Stand up for what is right; realize that man can kill the body, but not the soul. This does not mean to act in the flesh, but in obedience to what His Spirit tells you in His Word and speaks to your heart.
8) Realize God has a plan and purpose for your life and loves you eternally, will never forsake you.
9) Make disciples by sharing Christ and God’s Word.
10) Persevere in the faith.
Details are in His Word.
God’s Book is practical for daily living ONLY for true believers. In fact, only believers can practice His Word.
“Death is only a shedding of this mortal coil”
Death is an enemy to man. All men will die once (physically)as a consequence of sin. The “second death” is spiritual death. It means eternal separation from God. It is is the consequence of rejecting God’s Anointed One, His Son, the Redeemer—Jesus.
All mankind will be raised from the dead, the wicked to judgment and everlasting torment; the righteous to eternal life in the presence of God and His Son.
Those who have died (fallen asleep) in Christ will be raised up in the order and manner given in 1 Corinthians 15:20-58.
They will be raised up because Jesus Christ was raised up—He was victorious over sin, death, and the devil. (1 Corinthians 15:55-56)
When Christ returns in His glory, every knee will bow to Him and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God.

For the unbeliever:
Come to the Cross
Believe in Him for the forgiveness of your sins and raising up to walk in newness of life.
1 Corinthians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 2:4-5; John 14:6
Long, and perhaps a feeble attempt to answer your qustion, “What do we do about an abhorrent government”...
and our increasingly wicked generations that have come to exclude and reject the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and His promised Seed who was to come to bless all the families of the earth. (Genesis 12:3)
Peddle it somewhere else.
The indictment was filed by the 390th Judicial District Court of TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas Judge Julie Korucek (D) presiding.

Here is the indictment.

NOT a federal Grand Jury. A county grand jury of Travis County, Texas.
McCrum is a special prosecutor appointed by Robert Richardson. He was only a hired attorney and never appointed as a Federal Prosecutor as some claim. He withdrew his name from consideration by the obongo administration and went back in to PRIVATE PRACTICE.
This was all cooked up in Travis County but charges were brought by Texans for Public Justice. Often touted as a liberal watchdog group.
Bert Richardson is a judge in the Texas Western District Court of Appeals.
I can dig it...;-)
When I get the chance, I wish to have a good laugh with him about some of the utterly stupid things I did in this life, then we both go do a spot of fishing...
It is a dream I have...
How can there be any other kind of outcome for anyone else of faith, who truly believes as we do???
It just makes all of this gnashing of teeth such a waste of time, at times...
“...taking God at His Word and acting, thinking, speaking accordingly...”
That is a great assessment...I like it...
I didn't say anything about federal court or a federal prosecutor
But, since then, more info has been published.
Lehmberg recused herself which sent it to Julie Kocurekof who also recused which sent it to Billy Ray Stubblefield who handed it off to Richardson who hired McCrum.
“She lost her law license for 6 months - but was allowed to continue to work?”
That’s what the article said.
Clinochio was disbarred, and he kept working.
Being a demonrat means that nothing is too slimy to overlook.
You are so right -
Two RINOs and the same office that indicted Tom Delay... Quit while you are ahead.
Not only did Lehmberg recuse but we now know that Julie Kocurekof also recused. And we now know Judge Billy Ray Stubblefield(a Perry appointee) gave the case to Bert Richardson who hired McCrum.
Yup .... the whole county. Kind of a novelty. And people used to talk about Neshoba County and all those hateful Crackervilles. Here we have Winger boobs acting like asses, and ..... <crickets>
Where're the national media on this one?
Man, those transexuals get mean during transition don’t they.
Wish they’d told us if she was comin’ or goin’.
.
— She is more John Belushi than Nick Nolte . . .
Who does she think she is? One of the Kennedys?
