FERGUSON, Mo. After another night of chaos in a St. Louis suburb roiled by protests over the police killing of Michael Brown, one shooting victim is in critical condition and seven are under arrest.
Capt. Ron Johnson of the Missouri Highway Patrol said early Sunday a large force was deployed amid a curfew and protests in Ferguson after police received a report that a person had been shot.
Officers had learned through intelligence sources that a group of armed protesters were holed up in a barbecue restaurant. By the time police arrived, the shooting victim, whom Johnson did not identify, had been taken to a hospital by protesters. The victim is in critical condition, he said.
Tear gas was fired, Johnson said, after officers spotted a man with a handgun in the middle of the street. The man fled and was not caught, and officers did not arrest any armed protestors. However, seven people were arrested and charged with failure to disperse, he said.
A shot was also fired at a police car, Johnson said, though his staff had yet to determine whether the vehicle was hit. Its unclear who fired the shot....

Maybe shoulda “nipped it in the bud?”
Hmmmm....ya know....if I ever do have to hole up and hide from the police, I think a barbecue restaurant is exactly where I’ll do it ;-)
They think Zimmerman over reacted to a run of the mill beat down while we wonder why he waited so long to shoot.
Heck, all this time I was thinking he assaulted the clerk and strong arm robbed him by grabbing him around the neck.
Poor little tyke was getting his daddy a present and in his excitement just forgot to pay.
Hey, I used to buy my dad Meerschaum pipes, maybe you’re on to something there... LOL
You forgot there was slavery in America so blacks are entitled to loot and riot. You must not have enough White Guilt in you.
Pray America wakes up
Nothing to see here. Move along. ( wouldn’t want to let the rioters know the truth....they might stop rioting...don’t want that)
Chaos? That's a quiet night in Chicago........
“Freeman Bosley Jr. said Dorian Johnson, a friend of Browns, told the FBI that Officer Darren Wilson confronted the two before the shooting because they were walking in the middle of the street.
Wilson cursed at the pair and ordered them onto the sidewalk, Bosley told The Washington Post. When they refused to comply, he said, the officer grabbed Browns throat through the window of his cruiser, pulled out a pistol and shot him. Wilson then chased Brown, shot him in the back and shot him five to six more times as Browns hands were raised, Bosley said.”
Is there any verification of this account? First time I heard it, I find it hard to believe. If it did occur this way then I would have a hard time blaming these folks for raising hell. In another report it is said the cop who did the shooting was not aware of the robbery. Where is the truth and who is speaking it?
You can bet Geraldo will be lecturing Bill on Monday about Saint Michael’s execution.
Police always initiate any discussions with the public with unprovoked cursing. To preempt this behavior the citizen should, if prepared, present the officer with a donut, or failing that pull out the emergency coupon for Dunkin’ Donuts, as we recommended in our earlier discussion on urban survival precautions 101. /sarc
So the officer reached out out of the window of the car and grabbed Brown by the throat.......Brown is 6’4” tall. Unless that cruiser is a Ford Expedition, that isn’t physically possible.
The cop was in one of those ‘monster trucks’, he had to stretch to reach down far enough to reach that child’s neck.
I expect Zero to take US racial relations back to the 19th Century. So far, we're only back to 1965.
Dorian Johnson should be in jail.Because of his lies he started this riot.
