Governor Rick Perry refused to fund Lehmbergs office.
So on Friday Democrats decided to make a stand for drunk drivers everywhere and indict Governor Rick Perry.
On Saturday Governor Rick Perry held a press conference. Rick stands by his decision.
Heres what the governor had to say about the indictment.
Heres what I think is really important for the people to understand, not just Texans but this country. And, that is, we have seen an office in the form of the Travis County District Attorneys office. The lead, legal individual for criminal affairs in this county and overseeing public officials who conducted themselves in an incredibly inappropriate way. Stopped for a DWI with a blood-alcohol level almost three times the legal limit. An individual who when booked in had to be restrained. Was abusive to law enforcement. Was kicking the door. I think Americans and Texans who have seen this agree with me. That that is not an individual who is heading up an office that we can afford to fund. Now the people of Travis County may decide that that is the type of individual that they want in that office. But as the governor of the State of Texas I made that decision and I said no. And given that information and given that choice again, that is exactly what I would do.
Go, Rick Perry!

Doubtful, with the exception of maybe a few gop operatives who may had an axe to grind.
Liberal? Uh no. One can criticize him on certain issues like anyone else but to call him a liberal is ridiculous.
With their lack of a response, they might as well be complicit.
Perry said that thr NG’s role would not revealed. The observer comment is BS.
They are going after him because he is getting attention by his actions against illegal aliens. They also want to shunt any attempt by perry to run for president. Prevent defense.
As I have said on other Perry threads, do as I did today, and contact your state rep and senator, and ask that legislative action takes place stripping prosecutory powers from the Travis County DA offices. This is a cut and dry function that should reside with state AG's office.
She's the Travis County DA...ironically in charge of the 'Integrity Unit'.

Has Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)been reached for comment ?
Cruz came in support, and my guess is many others will follow suit once they realize what the facts are. The woman has as much business prosecuting people as she needs to be on the road.
I just hope no innocent people are killed by her driving habits in the future. Watch the films of the dash cam, arrest, and court date. This is not a perp with remorse.
Crazy loon drunk.
And of course obama should be impeached by any measure except for the political reality of it. He’d just love to play the first black POTUS victim and media would be like braying hounds following the call. It would be a disgusting spectacle and if you don’t think so then just remember what happened when Bubba got caught red handed lying about something that put some of his subordinates in the military into jail cells.
The rats would LOVE to be put in the briar patch of defending this charade of a POTUS.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Dang, that's a burn rate similar to LSU's fraternity row.
Why should the state be funding a county office anyways?
It’s Austin, they’ll indict anyone they don’t like
They may be funding the court system and related officers. DAs, PDs etc.
We need a bloody war on our soil TODAY!
alright, that’s true
Time to look into where the money goes!
