Not that Obama cares at all about Greene (or any service member), but the funeral is the last place he should be. Doing nothing was the right thing to do, for once.
Yeah, good point.
I specifically remember seeing in the spring of 1991 that George Herbert Walker Bush sat out the funeral of Lee Atwater, who presumably got the first Bush elected.
King Putt had a tee time that conflicted with the funeral of ‘that military guy, what’s his name’. As was reported by one of O’bastard’s aids./s
The general was unfortunate to have died during vacation time
There is a schedule ya know
I think it fits, boy king and all that.
If only Obama could stay in MV or even better return to Indonesia for good.
I served under both Carter and the Clintoons and the later were by far worse than even Carter (IMHO).
It was an honor to serve under President Reagan.
Pretty sure it will just be family. At this point, any good Obama can do, will not and cannot outweigh the bad.
Maybe a few fanatics. But that’s it.
While it is indecorum for his absence, just imagine what he could have done had he been there...campaigning, reprimanding Americans for this or that...etc. Maybe the family was spared some indignation after all.
The missing golfer has no business on the hallowed ground of Arlington National Cemetery, and I am relieved that he skipped what would have been a mere photo op to him.
A couple of questions: Was anyone from the Obama administration there to receive General Greene’s casket when his body was returned to this country? Did Obama even issue any kind of statement regarding the murder of General Greene? Did he call the family to offer his condolences? Maybe I just missed it, but I have not heard of any of these things happening.
Good - it would be no honor for him to attend. I’m torqued that Clinton signed my military retirement certificate - soon to retire again as a DOD civilian and requested Bush sign it and that I get nothing with Zero’s signature. We can request the signature of any living president and Reagan isn’t still around, so I chose the next best option of those I served under.
Funerals are depressing enough on their own. Who really wants him there, anyways?
Bush was asked why he didn’t attend any military funerals during Iraq war...he replied ..If you attend one, you would have to attend every single one because how do you honor one but not all?...
It came out afterwards that Bush and Cheney would often have dinners with soldiers/Marines/Vets while he was President. He didn’t want it known.
Bush does the Bike rides with wounded Vets, he has danced with wounded female Vet...and Bush gave up Golfing while our men and women were fighting in war.
Do you remember how Michelle attended the funeral for girl killed in Chicago, Hadiya Pendleton? Now that was important (sarcasm).
Thanks!
