With all my friends in suburban Seattle and my old doctor there also, I elected to have it done down there. I'll be staying the weekend with the head of the old cooking club. I'll pay my wages by doing some cooking for him and his wife over the weekend.

I should be fit to drive by Monday or Tuesday.

The British Navy had a wiser policy in this area. King George V was a career naval officer before coming to the palace, and he sported a fine beard, both in the Navy and as king.

He also brought his naval vocabulary to the palace, and that drove his poor wife to distraction.

Egad! I didn’t even know Patty Duke HAD a song...of any kind!

Bertie was George's father, Edward VII. He was a professional philanderer, even inventing a specially designed chair for sexual coupling. He called it "the seat of love".

George was a different sort of man. He was a personal friend of Rudyard Kipling and a fellow car aficionado.
