I get the idea that the 'teens' weren't blocking the entire road, but according to the witness, when the cop backed up, Mike was close enough to the door that he inadvertently knocked the door back closed (what kind of cockamamie bs is that?).

It seems to me more like this;

The cop drove past them, yelling at them to get on the sidewalk. They refused. He backed up either because he was going to make them move, or because he recognized Mike from a BOLO call. As he backed up, Mike charged the police car.

I saw the photographs of the dead kid, from two different angles. I have shot a lot of four legged varmints in my life. And based upon my experience, it looks like the kid was only shot once, in the chest. No visible exit wound. NOT hollow point?

Officers could have let go when the stopped resisting and allowed the officers to handcuff him.

You subdue til you handcuff/put on restraints, otherwise to ‘let go’ is to allow the criminal to re-attack and the whole things starts over.

In fact, the number of times MB was shot are going to be key. It was said he was shot as many as 8 times. But the photos no not show obvious shots in the back.
