The Guardian's Moscow correspondent, Shaun Walker, and The Telegraph's Roland Oliphant tweeted today that a column of armored personnel carriers (ACPs) and other Russian military vehicles have crossed over the Ukrainian border.
Vladimir Putin's government is sending a convoy of unmarked white trucks to Ukraine, and military vehicles started traveling alongside a supposed Russian aid convoy earlier on Thursday.
Most of the fleet of more than 262 vehicles, including about 200 trucks carrying aid, stopped 15 miles from the border of Ukraine's rebel-held eastern region of Luhansk.
If these reports are correct, a separate military convoy has apparently continued into Ukraine.

The Russians have probably shut them down.
This might not be the invasion proper, but just a provocation. They might be planning on starting a fight with the Ukrainians and claiming the Ukrainians attacked the Red Cross. Provocation is how the Reds work. Actually the Russkies have been sending in APCs, tanks, anti-aircraft guns, all sorts of stuff, for months and months now. This is not weird. What will be different is if Russia acknowledges it or in what they they intend to provoke the Ukrainians with it.

There will be lots of huffing and puffing from the West, but no action save for more sanctions. This could be the reason why Obama is headed back to DC on Sunday. No doubt we have been tracking closely Russian movements near the border as well as monitoring their communications.
