A large police SWAT team showed up to a peaceful demonstration in Ferguson, Missouri and the scene is getting increasingly tense, reports Huffington Post's Ryan J. Reilly, who is currently on the ground.
Soon after the team of more than 70 officers came on the scene, they told protesters they needed to leave the area and that "this [was] not open for discussion," Reilly tweeted. MSNBC reporter Trymain Lee tweeted that police told the crowd, "Go home, return to your vehicles. The protesters responded, "Mike can't go home!"
"Your right to assembly is not being denied," the police said later over a loudspeaker.

I'm not really sure which side to root for. One one hand, this is the militarized Police State force we've been dreading. On the other hand, the protesters/rioters are lawless gibsmedat scum.
Maybe they can eliminate each other?

That tells you these were not spontaneous protests by grieving community members at the death of someone they cared about.

We don’t have to cheer for either side. We can ask for justice and peace.

Well, FRiend, I have just about all the firearms those cops have in my safe. You want to go out and face a mob armed like that with a firehose? What happens to the surrounding neighborhoods when all the firehose cops are shot?

Ryan Reilly (HuffPo reporter) says officer slammed his head against the glass purposefully and then apologized sarcastically.

Wow, they almost look like an Army. No, actually they do and that's the problem.
A whole gaggle of college grads playing GIjoe waiting for a chance to get theirs (kill).
I'm not for either side in this mess and if the killing started I would
find it difficult to be upset over either side. Both are wrong in this mess.

Its easy to care less that the rioters and looters and getting squelched with MRAP’s and cops in riot gear that even Marines would kill for. But I gotta remember...
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak for me.

Let's have some fun. Count the number of weapons which the federal court in Connecticut (?) has stated are unusual and therefore not protected by the 2nd amendment as they are concentrated within just 1% of the population..
Now explain how these weapons are not needed for personal defense, then defend officers deploying those same weapons against unarmed citizens...
