In an email sent to the press at 12:35 a.m., state Senate candidate Gia Arnold says she is stepping down from the race due to personal reasons.
The email, posted below in its entirety says Arnold participated in an extramarital affair beginning in August of this year.
It states that she will no longer attend events and the money in her campaign account will be donated to charity.

Not having an affair is an easy choice to make, especially knowing that all eyes are upon you.
So he put a gun to her head and forced her to have an affair?
I know nothing about this local election. But it does seem kind of strange based solely on a quick google search. The 20 year Republican incumbent decided not to run in July 2014 after the US Attorney opened an investigation into his fundraising. And now this young lady is out on the Republican side.
Is anything going on with the local Republican establishment (do they have a candidate they’re pushing?) or with the guy named Johnny Destino who is running on the DemocRAT side? My suspicion is always raised when multiple folks suddenly begin to withdraw from their campaigns.
She had an affair beginning in August of this year? Today’s the 11th! Either it’s a one-night-stand rather than an “affair”, or she’s emailing during the act.
And it was an “extramarital” affair that took place earlier this month, but she mentions her ex-husband. Is there a 48 hour waiting period from filing the petitio to getting a signed Decree? Shazam!
They sure move fast there, where is this, Niagra? A New York minute indeed.
If she had an affair SO WHAT?????
Look at Bill Clinton and the entire zoo of left wing Democrat freaks. Homosexuals, transvestites, pedophiles and other perverts and a decent GOP candidate withdraws because of an AFFAIR?
Idiotic.
I don’t care if she gets her mail at a truck stop on 104. Why are conservative candidates held to a standard of personal perfection? Andy’s gang has its ungotz caught in a wringer with the Moreland Affair and few care.
You’re committing an ad hominem tu quoque fallacy.
The reason that we’re not like Democrats is because Democrats can be disgusting swine while we conservatives tend to be law abiding, moral, ‘square-bear’, solid citizens.
And that’s the way we roll.
I didn’t realize not getting involved in extra-marital affairs was “perfection.”
Ad homing tu quoque?
By assuming all Muslims act like or think like Muslims?
Who is the left to celebrate buggery yet condemn an “affair”?
A leftist candidate would come out and say “it’s not an affair it’s an alternative lifestyle choice that needs to be respected” and that would be it.
Especially in New York.
i know! this doesn't make sense...
Because “conservative” candidates spout holier than thou morality and are part of the broader “social conservative” movement; thus, much more vulnerable to cries of hypocrisy when it comes to personal behavior choices. “Practice what you preach.”
“A New York minute indeed.”
Yes, really.
In other words, her personal 'happiness' was more important than the responsibility she had to those who elected her.
She has not been elected to anything. The ballot for November has yet to be determined. NY’s primary is in September.
Heavy breathing between the typed words! ;)
Whatever makes ya happy is acceptable. The heck with those ya hurt. What a world.
....misspellings cause of sticky keys.....
