Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Luvy, for preparing
the Canteen for today’s activities.
Sneaking in for a quick hello
and catch up on pings,
and to play, of course.

You are in Your Musical 50s
The music you love never goes out of style - it's classic. You tend to only listen to the very best.
Your taste in music may be mainstream at this point in your life, but that's a good thing. You can make a playlist that everyone loves.

You tend to stick with artists you know these days, but if you find a new artist that you do like, you know it right away.
Your favorite music is creative, moody, and subtle. You don't need a song to overwhelm you in order to appreciate it.
How Old Is Your Taste in Music?

I guess I can't be too upset because at least it says,
"You tend to stick with artists you know these days,
but if you find a new artist that you do like, you know it right away.
Your favorite music is creative, moody, and subtle.
You don't need a song to overwhelm you in order to appreciate it."

Well, I am feeling so disorganized.
I had to relocate to a temp office while work is being done
and it is causing my organized brain a bit of trouble.
I'm praying I will be back in my office by the end of the week (please Lord).

Gonna make my rounds while it's still quiet.

Please stay right where you are.
Keep the troops and their families entertained.

The Canteen is

Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM ~ DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

You Are in Your Musical 60s
You love music for what it says as well as for how it sounds. You are big on music with a deeper meaning.
For you, there is little better than a talented singer-songwriter. And you always listen to the lyrics for every song.

You are open to today's music as long as it comes from a genuine place. You don't like mass marketed music.
You believe that every artist needs a strong voice. Generic music doesn't appeal to you at all!

What a crazy survey! Only the question that had Roy Orbison as one of the choices had any artists I like at all.

This series of questions misses the mark SO far for me . . . I've heard of some of these people, but I couldn't identify much of their music, let alone have a preference.

The first question mentions Mr. Bach, but that is the last time they even graze my frame of reference. Mr. Bach is late for me since he's Baroque, and my taste runs to medieval and Renaissance music.

You'd have to have a question like, "Which of these do you prefer: (a) Josquin de Prez (b) Heinrich Isaac (c) Johannes Ockeghem (d) Guillaume Dufay?"

But, seriously, isn't this one of the most beautifully solemn things you've heard in awhile?

Josquin: "Nymphs des bois" (lamentation for the death of Ockeghem)

Josquin, Ockeghem's pupil, composed this in homage to his master's style - Ockeghem was known for his deep resonant bass lines and stark harmonies.
