Iraq general: 70% of Yazidis on Mount Sinjar are dead By Rick Moran
An Iraqi general told a reporter for The Telegraph - the only western reporter who has flown over Mount Sinjar - that 70% of the Yahidis oin the rocky hill will die because of the lack of humanitarian aid.
I was on board an Iraqi Army helicopter, and watched as hundreds of refugees ran towards it to receive one of the few deliveries of aid to make it to the mountain. The helicopter dropped water and food from its open gun bays to them as they waited below. General Ahmed Ithwany, who led the mission, told me: It is death valley. Up to 70 per cent of them are dead.
Two American aid flights have also made it to the mountain, where they have dropped off more than 36,000 meals and 7,000 gallons of drinking water to help the refugees, and last night two RAF C-130 transport planes were also on the way.
However, Iraqi officials said that much of the US aid had been useless because it was dropped from 15,000ft without parachutes and exploded on impact.

Iraq has a lot of oil. Can’t they afford to charter some planes and fill them up with food and drop it in?
I’m with you. And that’s why I have disowned a lot of relatives.
Do you really think the Air Force is that stupid and that inept? They have perfected systems that will allow them to drop 20 ton loads from 15,000 feet and land them within 20 or 30 yards of their target. They used them all the time in Afghanistan. They would use them here.

I sort of doubt this tidbit of information....the US military has been dropping all sort of things including aid out of planes since WWII ....
They are damn good at it....
Of course under this CINC who the hell knows....
Tell a few relatives they're covered in Rwandan blood for voting for Clinton and you need to take a food taster with you to family reunions.
Too little, too late.
So you are saying the General is Lying?
-——MANPADS changed the rules, low level drops are far more dangerous when there are plenty of Stingers and other MANPADS available to the people surrounding the drop zone.-——
Ok... But that doesn’t explain why they would not use parachutes.....dropping a load with a chute at 15,000’ verses 30,000’ is not going to make difference except for how close you get to the drop zone...
It is now the Obama air farce—the entire government has been infected with stupid and inept. Hey they pay more attention to drag queen shows on base than common sense battlefield logistics
Same on twitter. Cool double flags - Kurdistan and USA.
My guess is that one pallet broke.
The first drop, I gather, was around 16,000 +/- so someone made a headcount and thought that figure was sufficient to stave off mass starvation and now it's been roughly doubled.
So, if you take into consideration ISIS is killing people that can't stay out of their way I belive more than 50% have already died if not 70%.
Either way, they're dropping from higher than normal altitude and getting less then stellar results as a consequence. Maybe that explains why the number or rations vs. the number of people seems out of kilter, they're counting what goes where they want it to go rather than everything dropped.
The “Iraqi officials” supposedly quoted here are a good example.
Our current CINC is a counterproductive piece of shi ite...but that does not mean the Iraqi officials are not just as equally useless lying sacks of shi ite as our POTUS.
Stick a mic in front of a known liar, and guess what will spew from their mouths!
Im with you. And thats why I have disowned a lot of relatives.
I certainly cannot respect someone that voted for Obama. They may have for their own agenda but anyone that didn’t know where he stood wasn’t being honest with themselves. If they cannot be honest with themselves, I cannot trust them to be honest with me.
I want nothing to do with anyone that would support the man.
I cannot think of a case where any kind of supplies were just ‘dropped’ from such a height with no parachute.
Leaflets maybe, but any kind of supplies, no.
Since the common/normal practice would involve parachutes, wouldn’t someone high up have to ‘order’ it to be done that way ?
I was speechless about this as I never heard of not using a parachute in this type of drop. However, American Thinker usually wouldn’t post something unless he was sure it was true, and I found it on another website....
Maybe they thought it would float into ISIS territory, but that far a drop for those type of supplies and no parachute would spell disaster....that’s common sense.
Since you want to put it that way, yes.
