Yes, I heard several mentions of “licorice”, because more than one reporter was confusing Swisher, with Swisher Sweets.
Pretty obvious that ppl were already talking privately about Brown having done something involving “Swisher”—the reporters simply assumed it was candy, b/c they don’t know about blunts.
Either the victims at QT, witnesses at QT, family members, friends, or police—were already aware the day of the shooting, that Brown was involved in *something* before the shooting—and those references were subtly inserted into reports making the airwaves.
Claims by the community to not know why Brown even MIGHT have been stopped, are simply false.

Apparently Mr. Johnson (first witness and with Brown at the robbery) has admitted that Brown took the cigars.
“Johnson’s lawyer confirmed to MSNBC on Friday that Brown had taken the cigars from the store.”
I’ve been out all morning, so I’m just now getting to news sites w/ robbery pics and the story’s new pieces of information. I agree w/ you about not blaming police for taking precautions, knowing now what they knew then.

I’m STUNNED at what I see from my own side, calling out the police for being “militarized”, and for overreacting & mishandling the situation.
They’ve been called out for showing up to a riot, with riot gear; lobbing tear gas into crowds that were firing at them; arresting reporters who refused to leave McD’s, so the employees could go home; invoking a no-fly zone over the area, after police helicopters were shot at; having molotov cocktails throw at them, and on them.
I think the police have shown great restraint & dignity, all things considered.
I also think many of the critics attacking them, would think differently if they were on the ground in the middle of a violently rioting crowd of people with few social skills.
To quote dfwgator, Swisher Sweets are the new Skittles.

Rush talked about being afraid ofmthe police because his grandmother joked about one arresting him, when he was an impressionable kid. People develop unhealthy fears because of such teasing.
To this day, I have to look down every few minutes to make sure no one has my nose.

Wonder if that picture (I saw it too), the gun was legally obtained and registered?
I believe that Brown robbed the Ferguson Market and was walking on the way to QT. Here is the map of both.
