“What I can tell you is it started out as a routine encounter with two young men walking on the street. They were asked to get on the sidewalk,” Jackson said. “It quickly became a violent encounter and then became a fight, some kind of fight inside the car. Shots were fired. I don’t know how many.”
Jackson said that the officer has been placed on administrative leave and his gun will be kept by investigators as evidence, though he is not prevented from having another weapon.
The officer will have to undergo two psychological evaluations as part of his administrative leave.
“He feels terrible about whole thing. He did not come to work with intention of this happening. He came to work to serve the community. He’s sad and he is hurt. He’s doing okay. It’s a difficult thing,” the chief said.

The kid was opposing the cop...it’s that simple....I understand he fought for the gun in the car....
Same old crap....the kid will be made out to be another Travon Martin...and the cop the bad guy in this.
Maybe one day the black community will understand their responsibility to see that their kids have fathers and their mothers more than just baby makers on foodstamps.
The cop confronted TWO young men. I haven’t heard what happened to the other kid or if he’s made any statements?
I wonder if the police car had a dashcam? It might not pickup anything going on inside the car, but there might be some audio that would give us a clue.
It's the family and the black community wanting to make more of this then there is....and news agencies and politicians which are all jumping on board for their own interests.
The kd got shot because he exhibited a lack of respect for authority and the police officer over reacted. Both were conditioned by their environment to react the way that they did. so, what is the answer, a Hamas style truce?
They banned wood, wood pellet and coal stoves/water heaters there, and the EPA’s taking that law nationwide. They’re fruitcake-wackos out there. Nothing they do surprises me anymore.
