So because this doesn’t really represent Islam, “moderate, peaceful” Muslims are holding mass vigils and protests all over America at public venues, street marches, college campuses and on websites and blogs denouncing this hideous violence as against Islamic teachings, as a violation of what it means to be Muslim, and as a call to action for Muslims to rise up all over the world against this perversion of their religion. In addition, liberals of every stripe, from sensitive college-aged young people to soccer moms and assorted yoga practitioners, as well as gays and feminists, are adding their collective voices in solidarity with this pushback against a small, violent splinter group that is spreading bloodshed and terror instead of promoting Islam’s true teachings of peace and obedience to God.

There needs to be an international mechanism to suspend the rules of war when one side in a conflict engages in verified “extraordinary inhumanity on the grand scale.”
In effect, freeing nations who have signed the Geneva Conventions to carry out military field punishment of such war criminals, respecting that an entire army cannot eventually be tried for such acts.
This would include not taking prisoners or accepting surrender, the use of normally prohibited weapons in proscribed roles, etc.
In this case, since IS has no defense against them, the US could use non-persistent nerve agent, cluster munitions, fuel air munitions, and many other forbidden weapons. IS would be annihilated within days.
How about some B-52’s out of Barksdale, the kind that sent the Republican Guard to hell!
