When I came home from Iraq in 2008, friends frequently asked me what I learned “most” from the experience. That’s a tough question to answer, and it depends greatly on context. I learned many things about my faith, my family, and my country, but if the question relates to the war itself, I’d tend to say something like this: “I learned the enemy is more evil than you can imagine, and I learned that a deployment is more difficult than you can imagine.” But while the deployment was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, the chance to play a very small part (surrounded by a band of brothers) to fight this extraordinary evil made it the most meaningful year of my life.
Since I’ve returned — and it’s been almost six years — I haven’t stopped talking about the nature of the jihadist enemy. I share the stories as much as I can (when the context is appropriate), yet I continue to be discouraged by how few Americans — and especially how few of my friends on the left — truly understand (or even try to understand) what the world faces. So they react in outrage when Israel strikes at Hamas, use the collapse in Iraq to once again score political points against President Bush, and use words like “irresponsible” to describe actions like launching rockets at civilians while hiding behind civilian human shields.

Liberals were willing to wage all-out war against the Nazis and the Japanese militarists and to hound the KKK to oblivion. Why can’t they see that Communists and jihadists are just as evil?
Liberals enjoy making caricatures of evil out of their political opponents: “Bushitler,” etc.
But to admit to the real existence of evil would mean that they would be forced to abandon liberalism as a political and social creed. Because liberalism is at bottom a kind of utopian fantasy that says that all people will be good if we just engineer society in a way that we know is good. But you can't achieve a utopia if evil exists, because evil can not be engineered away.
When the jihad hits this country on a regular basis and the flow of their free stuff is suddenly disrupted, or when they’re told “gay marriage” offends muslims...
The left will then take notice. Until then, they comfort themselves with the notion conservatives and Christians are the most evil beings on earth.
Perhaps like those in Europe, America's liberals believe if they appease the beast, they'll be eaten last.

When it happens, they will blame Christians and Conservatives.
At the heart of their ideology is a rebellion to and a hatred of God’s Law, and of God Himself.
Therefore, they’ll always choose evil over good, and call good evil.
It isn’t that they don’t understand, it is that they are afraid to confront it. Republicans play nice, so they are attacked. There is no danger that they will come over and kill them or their kids or set fire to their house. Same with Christians. Libs don’t expect violence from them, so they are free to treat them as poorly as they want. And also the same with Jews. They aren’t really prone to violence either, so they can be the evil money bankers to the Left, and there is never any pushback.
Now Islam, on the other hand, is dangerous. You see what happens to cartoonists. They end up dead. It is much safer to go after Christians! Also, the old “enemy of my enemy” makes them less likely to be targets of Islam, at least as long as there are still other targets. They see themselves as assets to the Islamists, so they feed Christians and Jews to the alligator, so that they won’t be eaten themselves.
Fear. Pure and simple.
Liberals are blind to the evil of jihad because, like "satanists," liberals subscribe to the chrstian worldview--and then root of the other side. Their antichrstianity is a very specific kind; it is not the antichrstianity of someone who disagrees with chrstian theology. It is the antichrstianity of one who only knows chrstianity as "religion" and then chooses to reject it; ie, the antichrstianity of a rebellious chrstian. The whole world becomes chrstianity vs. everything else, and just as they can only see religion in chrstianity, they can see only secularism in other religions. In their mind everyone from Siberian shamans to radical imams to Australian aborigines to shouting Black Pentecostal preachers to Hispanic Catholic peasants to Chasidic rebbes all blend together as one big undifferentiated mass that is the "victim of religion" (ie, chrstianity). All those shamans/preachers/rebbes/peasants are merely waiting for the nineteenth century European materialist philosopher to come and save them like a damsel in distress from the big bad "theocrat" (again, chrstianity). No matter how supernaturalistic, mystical, reactionary, irrational, or cruel, these other religions aren't identified as "religions" at all. They're "victims of religion" awaiting redemption by the secularist messiah in the form of the philosophy of Voltaire.
These antichrstian liberals still cannot accept that these other religions are truly religions. To the liberal mind, chrstianity is the only "religion" in existence and the only potential danger of "theocracy." Anything that weakens "the only religion"--even the empowering of radical fundamentalists of other cultures--is seen as striking a blow for secularism and against "theocracy." Yes, this is insane, but liberals are insane. After all, they are the people who in one breath declare life and the universe meaningless and in the next call for totalitarian mobilization to fight all sorts of "evils" (which can't exist in a meaningless world).
Let's take a look at the similarities in the attitude of chrstians and liberals to Jews just as an example of the above-described phenomenon. Neither sincere believing chrstians nor antichrstian liberals really appreciate Judaism for itself. To chrstians Judaism is a primitive "pre-incarnation" stage in the development of chrstianity that somehow got frozen in amber and is valued only for its role in the origins of chrstianity and for no other reason. To liberals Judaism isn't a religion but an ethnic minority whose existence and persecution by chrstianity illustrates the evils of "theocracy," the "goodness" of secularism, and the necessity of rejecting the idea of any objective truth in religion (since belief in objective religious truth causes people to kill one another--unlike the Khmer Rouge, I suppose). The Jews exist only to hit chrstianity over the head and to push the "separation of church and state." Like the sincere chrstian, the liberal can't wrap his head around the idea that Judaism might actually be exclusively true. Outside of being a persecuted religious minority, Judaism simply has no existence for him. Even Jewish worship and the totalitarian Theocratic discipline of Torah and mitzvot to the liberal has meaning only insofar as it challenges the objective truth claims of chrstianity (and therefore, so thinks the liberal, the very idea of objective religious truth). Like the philo-Semitic chrstian, the liberal declares his devotion to the Jews and Judaism, but like the chrstian he doesn't really accept the actual Jewish religion--only his personal interpretation of its significance in light of his own beliefs.
Chrstians of course like to point to this single-minded hostility by The Forces of Evil to "prove" that chrstianity is indeed the "one true religion." But that is no different from Catholics pointing to "satanism" (which is a sort of Catholicism-in-reverse) as proof of the truth of Catholicism. Just as "satanism" is to Catholicism, liberalism is actually merely "the other side" of chrstianity . . . its dark shadow or evil mirror reflection, if you will. Anyone sincerely opposed to all morality would oppose the moral codes of all religions. Those who oppose the moralism of chrstianity alone are blinkered mental juvenile delinquents rebelling against mommy and daddy.

The reason liberals don't condemn radical muslims is because both groups are totalitarian control freaks... our 'liberals' don't have the power to be as evil as radical muslims.... but Billy Ayers would fit right in with the worst of 'em. You know that's true disambiguator.

Since the time of the French Revolution, the most fundamental commitment of the left has been hatred of the Gospel. “Multiculturalism,” the latest version of the left does not really do what it claims, regarding all cultures as “equally valid”, but instead regards all cultures except Christian culture as superior to Christianity. The left sees Muslims as fellow-anti-Christians. Note how the press suddenly turned anti-ISIS only when the “Caliphate” attacked the Yazidis — the genocidal treatment of the Christians of Mosul caused barely a ripple of disapproval, and condemnation of the depopulation of Christian Qaraqosh gets pasted onto the stories of attrocities against the Yazidis as an afterthought.
Islam has declared war on the world from it’s very beginning. It’s time that the world realized that.

Actually, liberal's hatred of Judeo-Christianity wells up from their spiritual source, the spirit of Anti-Christ.
Actually the reason the Left in the US supported the war against the Nazis and the Japanese is because Germany and Japan had attacked the USSR.
The USSR was the mother of the US’s Communist Party which had heavily infiltrated the Roosevelt administration.
For Communism to succeed in the US it was believed that the USSR must succeed. And the US Communist party was essentially fully directed from the USSR. Those that failed to follow directions from mother Russia were either called back to Russia and disposed of quietly or those that tried to escaped were hunted down and killed in the US.
The Democrat Party has been Communist Lite since 1931.
