A spokesman for Hamas’s “military wing”, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, warned Thursday of renewed fighting with Israel if talks in Cairo to extend a 72-truce in Gaza collapsed.

“We appeal to the Palestinian delegation to not accept a ceasefire, unless it satisfies the demands of our people,” a spokesman using the nom-de-guerre Abu Obeida said in a televised address, adding that Hamas fighters were “ready to return to battle.” …

Turkish military is escorting yet another Freedom Flotilla sailing into Gaza.

All hell will break loose. That draws NATO into it.

“Hamas needs the seaport ope so they can import more cement and rebar and rockets.”

Remember all of the media propaganda from last summer, telling us how poorly-built and dangerous Gaza’s buildings were, and that we needed to send them huge quantities of Concrete and rebar to rebuild them safely???

And how those EVIL Israeli’s hadn’t allowed that into Gaza since 2007. And that the Israeli’s were evil??

Israel lets building materials for private construction into Gaza

Metal and Cement allowed in Sunday for first time in six years

Now we know why they wanted it so badly....

I hope they do. I don’t understand how these stone-age troglodytes honestly think that they can scare Israel into doing what they want. It’s rather like Chihuahua harassing a Pitbull. Israel will annihilate them and do the world a favor at the same time.

If Hamas even tries to attack Israel, Israel should just say, screw what the rest of the world thinks and just demolish Gaza

If Israel is supplying the cement and stuff, why can’t they insert some type of material into the cement that can be tracked so they know where the cement is being used?

Hamas must be needing resupply of missiles from that port. Israel should call their bluff.

Iron Dome doesn’t matter to Hamas.

Ask yourself - why fire a rocket? What are the odds that the rocket hits something?

Very slim.

So why fire it at all? What is the expected result, and what are they trying to accomplish?

The answer is they are trying to get Israel to fire back...hopefully a few kids will get hit, and their shattered bodies can be splashed across the news..

Each rocket probably costs them $1,000. They do practically zero monetary damage. But they garner tens of thousands of dollars worth of free publicity. This is their goal, and the value they get out of firing a rocket. It doesn’t matter if Iron Dome knocks the rocket down...they still get the payoff.

And the free publicity gets us here - where they are now demanding the seaport opened.....at a time when Iran is developing nukes. The west will pressure Israel into the suicidal action of allowing an open sea port, capable of offloading giant shipping containers of ‘peaceful goods’, with no Israeli supervision.

I would encourage Israel to develop a decision-less counter-battery system. They can announce its capabilities to the world - If you fire a rocket as Israel, artillery will automatically return fire to the launch location. It will be done immediately, and automatically, such that firing a rocket at Israel is akin to turning a gun on yourself. You are the only one pulling a trigger, and you are starting a chain reaction that kills your own people.

No. NATO is for defensive purposes. If a NATO nation attacks or provokes an attack, then it’s too late Charlie.

Let the UN supervise what’s being delivered.
___

The UN has always supervised what’s coming into Gaza (missiles) and where it’s being stored (schools). I hope you’re not serious.

Hamas is a third world flea... these guys need to spend more time building a culture worth living in rather than attempting to destroy the cultures of men who ARE building first world countries.

I am serious. If it's done correctly, it could mean that Palistinians who aren't terrorists (most of them) have the opportunity to lead productive lives.

What you've got there now after the hundreds of children's deaths is a recruiting ground for ISIS. Wouldn't it be better to have a supervised port on the Med rather than an outlet to the sea for the maniacs?

I think you miss the point. It is too late. Or too early. Isreal already allowed building materials and supplies in and look what happened. They built bunkers and tunnels instead of actual houses and other buildings.

Just need to blast them all to hell. All the decent people have left already anyway.
