Why should it make any difference to them? The only reason I can think besides wanting to kiss pervert butt and avoid boycotts is to hoist some employees onto their “spouses” insurance should same sex marriage become legal in Florida and other states.

They have. I was at my local JCP just yesterday and there was a JCP doing a store inspection. Talked to him briefly and he confirmed to me that the company has changed back; and the customers and employees are much happier with the direction of the company.
I am not saying they will make it long term, but traffic and sales are improving.
