When one speaks with fellow Republicans about the future of the GOP, it is common to receive some negative feedback. This is because many conservative/libertarian Republicans feel the party has simply not done enough to challenge the Obama agenda. There is a widespread feeling among the rank and file that the country is hurtling toward socialism while Republican leaders sit on the sidelines and either do nothing or propose ways to manage socialism more effectively.

I have given up on the GOP and am simply not sure it can ever be reformed.

For a Third Party to be effective, millions of voters need to join it, become active, recruit others and support its candidates. Moreover, millions of dollars would need to be raised to market the party and fight for ballot access changes. I propose that a website be set up that collects pledges. By that, I mean a person would log on, register themselves, and then electronically sign a pledge that commits him or her to vote for a Third Party when the party officially launches. Of course, such a pledge cannot be legally binding, but I doubt most voters would go through the process of registering themselves online unless they were serious. Of course, there would be some fraud, but that would be factored in when determining how much support the new party has.
The when part is the key to this effort. When the number of pledges reaches, say, twenty million voters nationwide, only then does the party launch and actually field candidates. The same kind of tactic could be used to raise money for the new party. When contribution pledges reaches, say, $50 million dollars, the party launches. No more feeble third parties that get 1% of the vote.

Maybe we need both of our approaches. The boycotts and selective patronizing to put the money in the hands of the companies and states that agree with us, and then using that leverage to accomplish some of what you said.
I reject the notion we can establish a 3rd party in time to save America.
Give us a model or strategy that proves me wrong.
Nice straw man you have there. Who is advocating a 3rd party?
And if they are being positioned for that, the primary is the place to vote against them being the candidate.
Whether we are tired of who the GOP puts forth is irrelevant, as I will NOT vote for a Democrat but I sure want the Democrats out, period.
You can troll all you want to stop conservatives from voting, but some will have sense enough to keep out the Democrats.
Not yet.
I won’t vote for a democrat either. I never said I would. What I said, along with many others, is that I will never again vote for a RINO. Like others have said, I held my nose and voted for the GOPe chosen ones, never again.
Neither will I vote for a candidate that committed election fraud in a primary against a conservative.
If you lived in Pennsylvania in 2009, would you have voted for RINO-Republican Arlen Specter (shortly before he switched parties)? Guess what, any vote for a RINO is a vote for a democrat; some are just more honest about it!
That's why I can't take you GOPe types seriously.
So you approve of McConnell and Conryn using GOP donations to fund attack adds calling McDaniel, and the TEA Party, Racist?
You support the GOPe bribing democrat preachers to encourage their flock to “cross the aisles” in a primary to vote against the conservative (even though they won't vote for Cochran)?
And you wonder why your party is losing conservatives. You guys must love defeat!
Hey strawman!
What’s your solution?
Stay home?
You can troll all you want to stop conservatives from voting, but some will have sense enough to keep out the Democrats.
When did I tell anyone what to do? I simply said I won’t vote for the treasonous wing of the GOP.
Do you really expect any conservative to believe the GOPe supports us? They’ve “got our back” alright.
Tell you what, Kackikat, if you want conservative votes stop backstabbing, undermining and betraying your base. You jokers have been smashing away at the foundation then you get angry when your house begins to collapse.
Hey strawman!
Whats your solution?
Stay home?
One solution would be for the party to quit crapping on it’s conservative base. Do you agree, Larry?
Regardless, those involved in Mississippi’s election fraud must go.
These GOP cheerleaders are either hopeless cases or paid trolls. It really isn’t worth debating them. Let them vote for the back stabbers and continue their descent towards Gomorrah.
No!
That’s an OBJECTIVE!
A “solution” would be a PATH to that objective.
Our Conservative County is teaching the GOPe they aren’t in charge anymore.
You must get involved locally and responsibly.
It’s funny how they accuse US of being the trolls. How many have accused you of “telling people to vote democrat” or “telling people not to vote?”
I keep correcting them over and over; I think I’ll build a word document so I can simply copy and paste.
They’re pathetic.
If the party wants voters then the party has to start representing the voters.
The current “Constitution Party” is anything but hawkish on national security. It pretty much follows the line of the John Birch Society, which is now referring to grass roots supporters of our troops as “red state fascists” and is now calling on people to stop supporting the troops altogether.
Tell you what, Larry. When I see Cornyn and McConnel in tar and feathers I’ll be ready to listen to what the GOP has to say.
In the mean time I’ll support the likes of Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy.
Does that sound fair?
It’s like my tagline. I’ve kept it for a long time now, because it just makes so, so much sense...
True
My favorite is “Liberal Girl” ;’)
Maybe if people would help me spread the word, others would join exponentially. But right now, it's pretty lonely out here, beating the drum all by myself.

And yes, I have a major crush on Molly Line of Fox News. Call me, Molly!
