Bill Maher is known for his pathological, frothing attacks on all things conservative. However, on the August 1 edition of Real Time With Bill Maher, the HBO host took a controversial stance for a liberal: he defended Israel. When his Iranian-American guest Reza Aslan argued that Amnesty International...have found no evidence whatsoever of any kind of human shield being used, Maher interrupted to state It's a war. It's a war that Hamas started.
The left-wing comedian continued, claiming that somehow when Israel reacts to this, they have to do everything in a way that doesn't kill any civilians. People die in wars. Maher repeated his sentiment from July 28, that if the situation was reversed, Hamas would kill every single person in Israel. The reason that's not happening is because they can't. Because they can't doesn't make them good, it makes them weak.

Maher has gone after the Left on a number of occasions. Not alot, but it isn’t rare.
News is drama. He probably can’t find anybody to counter his guests so he has to do it himself.
I frequent a liberal site. To be blunt, it’s more fun to discuss the issues with people you disagree with. But I digress.
What I’ve noticed there is this action by Israel is splitting the liberals right down the middle. It’s even tearing them apart more than the Martin/zimmerman thing.
That is a very good thing.
“When his Iranian-American guest Reza Aslan argued that Amnesty International...have found no evidence whatsoever of any kind of human shield being used,
When we can’t find any Jew haters here, we import them.
Does Maher have Jewish blood flowing in his veins? His schnauz makes me wonder...
“we are better than Hamas is not Israel’s national motto. This idea that Hamas is a terrorist organization and Israel is a democracy, there is no moral equivalence, youre absolutely right, there is no moral equivalence. There is none. It’s the democracy that requires greater criticism. It’s the democracy that has to live up to the values that it ascribes to itself.”
Classic Alinski tactics from Professor Aslan.
I've noticed that. I'm not fond of him, but one thing I will say is that he isn't one of those liberal idiots that have become Islamist apologists simply because "anything that outrages Christians is good." (Which is how a lot of them operate.)
he is that about 90% of the time though.
Bill Maher is so vile, he soils your cause when he does agree with you.
Bill, just keep supporting the world’s Marxists. Don’t confuse people by directly supporting Israel, when 99% of the time you support the people who hate Israel.
I'm glad to see he is not as hardcore in being deliberately blind to the truth as so many on the extreme Left are.
Kudos to Bill for not lying just for the sake of being against what is true.
Bill knows who pays his salary. That’s the only reason he is doing this,
Israel is a nation that is basically founded on a religion. One would think that Maher would hate them.
One of the most impassioned and well-argued defenses of Israel I’ve ever heard was given on the radio by Liberal Law Professor Alan Dershowitz a couple of weeks ago.
Maher’s mother is Jewish. So he’s Jewish.
> Mahers mother is Jewish. So hes Jewish.
Explains the schnoz
