Nobody on this board should ever come on here claiming the GOP has no backbone. This is why.
It is not an attack, but our side wants to play by Queens-berry rules in a knife fight. This is not about being nice or fair, it is about winning using every weapon you have. It is about saving our country, not about pragmatism. Pragmatism got us Romney who had zero chance with Romneycare around his neck and being rich during a Marxist rebellion against the rich. They tried impeachment for 8 years on Bush and he did nothing wrong. Nobody on their side said no this is not a good strategy. Obama has broken every law in the book, but since he is black he gets a pass. Really? We take it completely off the books because we may upset the blacks who will never vote for us. What else are we afraid of?
The Dems are trying to inoculate Obama from impeachment now knowing full well he is about to create one of the gravest constitutional crises in our history. It is meant to render the GOP powerless in their response. We will have indeed crossed the Rubicon.
IMHO,Going after everyone who is not a lying half black potus which is politically suicidal, is a good strategy. Not understanding national politics and how it is played on a grand scale is a huge error. I don't want to be that person anymore
I'm beginning to understand it and see just how much effort they have put into long range strategy. We need to do the same or keep losing.
My guess is that your take is that by doing the impeachment thing it will invigorate our base and it will. Problem is it also invigorates their base as well.So the big question is what about the squishy middle? I'm not smart enough to know what happens there. And I don't like the chances whatever they are. Why play an unknown card when you already hold three aces.
Their base is quiet and I like that. You can do the righteous thing and impeach a bad commie potus and have everyone on our side applaud you. But, it assures we lose ground and he never gets impeached anyway. So what have you accomplished?

What is missing here, at least in terms of the pubs, is a LEADER.
Actions must be taken now that require first-an acknowledgement that we can’t play chess by the rules if the guy we challenge has all Queens. It’s not a gentleman’s world. Lying is not dishonorable; it is a fine tool to win the game.
