Bullet kills sleeping boy: 8-year-old Detroit boy gunned down while sleeping

Stray bullets blasted through the wall of a Detroit townhouse struck and killed a sleeping boy early Wednesday morning. Police responded to a townhouse at the Brewster-Douglass housing projects on Detroit’s east side at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and found Jakari Pearson in the street, bleeding out from a bullet wound to his chest.

“Gunned down”? I notice the left are all adopting “gunfire” as the new word for someone being shot.

In this case a stray bullet him while he was asleep in bed, but I wouldn’t describe it as being “gunned down”.

I don’t even think the border kids ever saw another kid killed by Mom’s boy friend.

You can't really be "gunned down" if you're already horizontal in bed. "Shot to death" or "killed by gunshot" would fit better.

It's a very confusing article. One boy, of unknown age, is found in the street, bleeding. Another, unnamed boy was hit in his bed and died an hour (or is it 45 minutes?) later. There is little to suggest that both are the same boy who, after being shot, managed to get out of the house - especially because Jakari died in 45 mniutes, and the other, unnamed boy - in 1 hour.

All this could have been fixed with a simple leading sentence: "At the Brewster-Douglass housing projects on Detroit’s east side, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, Jakari Pearson and his mother were struck by gunfire. Jakari, a 8-year-old boy, died from his wounds."

Instead the journalist starts with pure speculation: "Stray bullets blasted through the wall..." - how would the journalist know that the bullets were stray, and not carefully aimed? On the other hand, she could have started the article with "It was a dark and stormy night."

Oh, you never know. Family fragmentation isn’t limited to the U.S. black underclass. The breadwinner of a Salvadoran family, say, goes to the United States for work, sends money home to his wife and kids. A decade passes, and the wife hooks up with another man. (The husband may have moved in with another woman, too.)

Chaos ensues, boyfriend turns violent ... not impossible. It certainly happens among Hispanics in the U.S., unfortunately.

Found a better source of info at the Detroit Free Press. Apparently the article used cited anther soucred which cited the Detroit News and the Detriot Free Press.

The mother apprently carried the boy out of the house to take him to the hospital but only got as far as the driverway.

Some of the story does not make sense. Boyfriend is a paerson of interest, but shots were fire to a second story bedroom and through a brick wall. I did not know of bullets that could cleanly go through brick walls.

The media shows its disdain for blacks daily by endorsing political, economic, and educational policies that marginalize them; I could care less when they try to use the welfare livestock to push the political agenda of gun control. White liberals would view this as a very late partial-birth abortion; they have no interest in addressing the real issues, but will use the corpses of these children to disarm the rest of us.
