This time, Gaza fighting is 'proxy war' for entire Mideast
CNN ^ | 7/31/2014 | Josh Levs

The conflict raging in Gaza is different this time. While Hamas' rocket attacks and Israel's military actions may look familiar, they're taking place against a whole new backdrop.

"This is unprecedented in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict," says CNN's Ali Younes, an analyst who has covered the region for decades. "Most Arab states are actively supporting Israel against the Palestinians -- and not even shy about it or doing it discreetly."

It's a "joint Arab-Israeli war consisting of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia against other Arabs -- the Palestinians as represented by Hamas."

Indeed, this is the ULTIMATE “proxy war”.

Satan can’t strike at God,

so his people strike out at God’s people.

I’m surprised Turkey is on the other side. I’ve always thought it was one of the most secular Islamic countries.

Meanwhile, the toll of potential Israeli citizen deaths from Hamas rockets continues to rise. The toll recently passed the 100,000 mark and now stands at 104,120.

Had the thousands of Hamas rockets struck the densely populated Israeli targets the death toll would have been 104,120. The Iron dome and poor aim prevented the genocidal scale death toll.

Turkey went to the dark side when Tayyip Erdoğan was elected. He purged all the anti Islamic military people over the years which was the country's last line of defense. It is now just another Islamic hell hole.

"Most Arab states are actively supporting Israel against the Palestinians -- and not even shy about it or doing it discreetly."

Not Obama and Kerry.

And don't forget how Barry Soetoro called Erdogan his "best friend" among world leaders and phoned him more than other.

Turkey is still a great place to visit - great food, beautiful climate and crystal blue water along the Southern/Southwestern coasts.

Erdogan’s AKP party came to power with a moderate mask on, and got reelected twice on a rising economy (from printing money and instituting many of the conomic reforms recommended to join the EU).

Their agenda has been to transform their society into an Islamist country. They have purged the military and courts, rewrote the constitution twice, inculcated the school system with Islamist ideology, and imposed some of the world’s most oppressive press restrictions - more journalists are in jail there for what they wrote, than in China and Iran combined - some with sentences of over 1,000 years. Many Turks are not in favor of the reversal of Attaturk’s secular reforms, but the economy was growing gangbusters (more recently, growth has slowed).

Erdogan has been active in trying to export Islamist revolution, and to restore the caliphate, which the Turks used to rule. He came in on a platform of friendly relations with all neighbors, and now has Turkey mired hip deep in multipe hostile confrontations with mass casualties (of their surrogates, not Turks themselves) like Syria and Iraq. He is a tight ally of the Muslim Brotherhood, and their Turkish chapter, IHH, was behind the MV Mavi Mamara’s attempt to break the Gaza naval blockade, leading to something like 8 deaths. They are stating that they intend to do it again, but this time with Turkish Naval escort.

Yes, finally, finally, FINALLY many key Arab states understand who the REAL enemy in their part of the world is, who the REAL obstacle to peace and prosperity is, and agree with Israel as to what must be done and...we have f’ing Bath House Barry and Horse Face Kerry in charge of foreign policy and they come and royally screw up a once in a thousand years opportunity.

THIS is what we get for electing a Leftist, just because he was (half) black and a bunch of idiotic, self-hating liberals (but I repeat myself) voted for the sumbitch just to soothe their overly-sensitive consciences.

An anti-Israel liberal friend of mine explained to me that those Arab countries are being paid to take sides. The US gives money to all of them and that was his "proof".

Anti Israel and Liberal..gee that’s a combo you don’t hear about everyday/sarc..you should ask your liberal friend why he hates Israel so much..if he would like his house being bombarded with rocket fire and being surrounded with nothing but enemies who want to kill you..how he would respond..and has he ever even stepped foot into Israel, he might have a different view of the country if he actually visited it

I have asked. He insists he doesn't hate anyone. I can't say much to that because he insists I hate Obama. I hate what he's doing to this country but I try not to hate any man.

My friend is a typical liberal in that once he sees the pics of dead children there is no changing his mind. I have provided him with loads of information including proof that Hamas uses and abuses kids, proof that Hamas violates every cease fire and proof that Hamas is responsible for the current conflict and the dead. But his sources being what they are (one being anti-Israel website Jewish Voice For Peace) he believes every anti-Israel thing they tell him including this entire war is Israel's fault for occupying land that is not theirs. He's a liberal so he eats it up and refuses to entertain the thought that he may have been misinformed. So be it.
