Democratic senators facing tough reelections want to put the brakes on President Obama’s plan to reform the nation’s immigration enforcement system through executive action.
Two of the Senate’s most vulnerable incumbents, Sens. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) and Kay Hagan (D-N.C.), say Obama should not act unilaterally to reduce deportations, arguing it’s Congress’s job to change the law.
While the Democratic-led Senate has passed a bipartisan bill, the Republican-controlled House will not. That poses a dilemma for Obama. Slowing or halting deportations of otherwise law-abiding residents who came to the country illegally could produce a backlash in red states where Obama has low approval numbers. Furthermore, the crisis at the southern U.S. border complicates any move to ease deportation laws.
But not taking executive action could discourage Latino voters, who backed Obama and other Democratic candidates overwhelmingly in the 2012 elections and expect action on immigration reform.
Many of those voters are upset by the relatively high rate of deportation during Obama’s second term. Earlier this year, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) and Janet Murguía, the president of the National Council of La Raza, dubbed Obama the “deporter-in-chief.”
While Latino voters will be crucial to Democrats’ winning the White House in 2016, they are not nearly as much of a factor in this year’s Senate battlegrounds. Except for Colorado, where Hispanics make up more than 20 percent of the population, Latino voters make up a small percentage of states’ electorates.

Even long-term democrat politicians are beginning to realize the voters are less and less fooled by their socialist nonsense. They face heavy defeats in November even if they change their tune at this late date.
To paraphrase Obama’s comment to Putin, after the mid-terms these dems will have more flexibility on the issue.
People living in the bubble shouldn’t rule or make decisions for those living outside the bubble. If the senators want to know what’s really going on they need to go down to the border without an entourage that has been assigned to steer them away from the bad elements. They need to talk to the BP, the DPS, and ride with them to see what is really going on. Then they need to gather the financial info to see how much this is really costing the taxpayer and the politics involved and long term effects of the invasion. I’ve already seen the tip of the financials and the cost is astronomical. This is pure Cloward - Piven bankrupting of the nation. Illegals receive far better treatment than the citizens who pay high taxes. We are merely a used afterthought of no value because our skin is not brown.
It's Congress' job to change the law? Really? Well, whadda'ya know...
Let’s hope that the GOP is not so stupid as to TAKE OFF THE PRESSURE on these vulnerable Dems by offering up a GOP-sponsored immigrant-amnesty bill.

Deporter in chief. Give me a frickin’ break. As with everything coming out of this office it is redefining a term. All that changed was refusing entry in to the country is now considered deportation by the Obamatons.

La Raza President and CEO Janet Murguia, at La Raza's annual conference in LA, said it sickened her to hear Americans chanting. She accused Murietta protesters of having "cloaked their hatred in patriotism" by shouting "'USA! USA!' again and again." "It made me angry," she said. "In fact, I was outraged."
Murguia demanded amnesty and said the road to the White House for Republicans goes through the Latino community and La Raza. She also said Republicans who want to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will not get Hispanic votes.
She repeatedly excoriated patriotic protesters. "What we saw in Murrieta is not patriotism. It is ugly, divisive, and yet another low in a debate I thought could not get much lower." Murguia did not say comment on "Viva La Raza!" chants from pro-amnesty advocates
A Pew Research report found that nearly 90% of those swarming the border are teenagers---not "little kids," as Murguia claimed. She said it was "reprehensible" for Republicans to be "concerned" about disease and crime the "little kids" may be bringing across the border.

Repub Cong/men Jason Chaffetz, Louis Gohmert and Randy Forbes were standout patriots, protecting Americans from the invading hordes at the border.
Cong Gohmert stopped the show with his probing judicial-like queries---the former judge's brilliant circumlocution, and his prodigious knowledge of the law was awesome---as well as his ability to nail Gonzalez to the wall.
WRT drug cartels paid $6000 to "guide" the hordes over the birder---"Would you call them criminals?," he asked Gonzales. Making the point that if the hordes were coming here to escape drug cartels, why is it they pay the violent breed to get over the border?
Gonzales made a show of his legal bgrnd---but he paled agaimst Goehmert's expertise. Gonzales, as a former prosecutor and officer of the court, should know that the US justice system is not amenable to dispensing justice to litigants w/ "unclean hands"---a legal term meaning those who have committed crimes. His license to practice law should be pulled.
Sad to see Cong Jason Chaffetz's resignation, knowing we'd get nowhere with the lock-stepping Gonsalez----prostrate in obeisance to Obama---his lips pressed firmly to the WH behind.

I called Ms. Hagan’s congressional office yesterday and gave them a little bit of my mind regarding immigration, suppoer of Israel, Planned Parenthood and Obamacare . I’d like to think that many of NC residents are doing the same.
