In an appearance on Fox News Sunday, conservative columnist George Will had some harsh words for those who insist that the waves of migrant children crossing the border from non-contiguous nations in search of asylum.
“We ought to say to these children, ‘Welcome to American, you’re going to go to school and get a job and become Americans,’” Will insisted.
He seemed to suggest that those who advocate for the deportation of South and Central American minors underestimate America’s power to assimilate foreign-born populations.
“We have 3,141 counties in this country. That would be 20 per county,” he added. The idea that we can’t assimilate these eight-year-old criminals with their teddy bears is preposterous.”
Fox host Chris Wallace sounded a note of skepticism when he interrupted Will to add that he could sense viewers already sending in angry emails contesting the syndicated columnist’s iconoclastic take on the border crisis. Will countered that the waves of immigrants America took in and assimilated in the 19th Century vastly outnumbered the present influx.
He said that the greatest counter to illegal immigration ever passed by the United States was NAFTA, “which it put the Mexican economy on the road to prosperity.” Will advocated for a similar free trade agreement with Central American countries and a plan to reduce America’s illegal drug consumption in order to arrest the flow of immigrants from unstable countries like Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

I am living in the Twilight Zone of Amerika. Is he nuts? Importing 3rd world criminals into this country, spreading them around....not thinking about the complete destruction of our economic and educational system? Not to mention, that it’s against the law? What’s next? Give California and Arizona to Mexico?

Bingo! I can’t believe Will could be so naive.
George Will sits on his butt once or twice a week on TV and pontificates with his magnificent Bow Tie and calls that work (he writes for some paper, too but I don’t bother to read it).
He seems to think this and the cocktail parties, meetings, media blather and White House functions he gets invited to make him some sort of expert on what it’s like to be an American outside that rarified atmosphere of idyllic DC.
He sits there calmly every week, every month - for YEARS talking about this tyrant our leeches elected - TWICE - as a legitimate President with whom we have small procedural differences.
He is a worse enemy to us than any number of welfare queens, thugs, illegal immigrants or criminals who will mug you without one thought.
Damn him. Fie on him.
If the TB-threat and the dumping of 50,000 new gang members didn’t exist...George Will might be right. I’m just imagining putting 250 of these new gang-bangers into DC, and how the whole dynamic of street protection would disappear within 100 days. Just watch the DC health department announce 50 cases of TB in ten days....and how the whole city council would freak out, and ask for federal assistance.
There’s a method to immigration control....you let in folks who don’t have disease issues...and who won’t be part of some troublesome crime episode in six months.
They don’t want to be Americans....They want to conquer America.

If enough of them get welfare, it will conquer America sooner or later.
Is George going to pay to have their MS 13 gang tats removed so they can interview for a job?
And they will be indoctrinated by the “Reconquistas.”
George Will is not very “conservative.” He supports gun control and now amnesty.
Can we make him send back his membership card and decoder ring?
And he came out recently as an atheist.
Will’s role is to sit opposite a Democratic party propagandists and put a sheen of intellectual respectability over what amounts to fraud. And he is paid very well, so well his family is no doubt insulated from the results of his actions.
Mexico has been de populated by illegal emigration to the US to the degree that they now have a very tight job market with very low unemployment.
They have exported their unemployment problem to the United States
The Obama Administrations economic policies ensure they stay un employed when the get here and that they become dependent upon government for their survival.
