The U.S. Embassy in Libya evacuated its personnel on Saturday because of ongoing militia violence in the capital, Tripoli, U.S. officials said.
About 150 personnel, including 80 U.S. Marines were evacuated from the embassy in the early hours of Saturday morning and were driven across the border into Tunisia, U.S. officials confirm to CNN.

If my memory serves, they actually tried to save his sorry butt.
But I don’t think they wanted to get that involved. We did have some special operators on the ground, but they were either to late, or were not able.
Everything else was done from the air, if you recall. All we had there was a small detachment and they were based on a off shore ship.
I don’t think we gave a order to kill him. I don’t think the rebel clans would take it if we gave it. They did not need any urging.

CNN can do good international reporting if they leave out their political views. I’m sure they’ll be blaming Bush before long.
