My favorite part was the difference between Rockwell’s and Shalhoub’s characters reaction to being transported halfway around the galaxy - “Hmm, that was a hell of a thing.”

LOL

And then there was Guy’s rant about being the expendable character.

I think I’ll have to watch it again this weekend.

Had to grin at an earler line:

"I dunno, maybe we should at least listen to him. I mean, who knows when we'll get another gig?"

Now I have to watch the whole thing again! *laugh*

“Harold wanted Alec Baldwin, which also would have been phenomenal.”

No - it would utterly have ruined the film.

Yep, plenty of great lines posted above. I definitely want to watch it again for the 7th time.

I just watched Galaxy Quest on TV last weekend for the umpteenth time. It is such a fun movie. And while it pokes fun of Star Trek and the Trekkies, it is actually an homage to the genre.

And I love how the self absorbed actors from the “historical archives” are moved to find their hearts and the inner courage to do the right thing, risking their lives and actually becoming the real life heroes they had only previously pretended to be.

Re: Hmmm, who... is that?

LeBrock, Kelly LeBrock and evidently, you young whippersnapper, I am... before your time--

Now, get down! And... give me twenty!

And do real pushups... none of those pantywaist, using your knees, ones!

Lol, re “give me twenty!” been there done that, PI in 69. More like “pushups, ready begin and don’t stop until I tell you to”. Twenty would have been easy duty.

Quote that line back to the wife all the time when discussing great actors stuck in crappy roles.

Graeme McMillan (writing in The Hollywood Reporter): “Galaxy Quest” is the seventh greatest “Star Trek” movie ever made, according to Trek fans [who voted at] this past weekend’s Star Trek 2013 Convention in Las Vegas.

Hogwash! It's easily Number Three, and I can get more fans to agree with me on that than I can on which movies are 1 and 2 (and in which order)!

Pulled out the DVD and watched it again last night. Just as great as ever, and I was in stitches again even though I already knew the plot. Never knew the "trashbag" scene was cut, and then deliberately sneaked back in -it definitely helped the overall theme.

On a side note, I was distressed to find out that the backup copy of the DVD was apparently in the failed 320Gb external drive, and I now have to make a new backup and check the entire collection to see exactly how many backups I lost and have to replace. Going to take awhile, I am afraid.

Gee, I’ve watched the movie tons of times and never noticed Rainn Wilson.

Love this film. “Now you will face jus-tice-ice...”
