Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Tony Dungy told the Tampa Tribune that he would NOT have drafted Michael Sam if he were still coaching.
I wouldnt have taken him, said former Bucs and Colts coach Tony Dungy, now an analyst for NBC. Not because I dont believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldnt want to deal with all of it. Its not going to be totally smooth things will happen.
What are your thoughts on Coach Dungys statements???
The uproar over his truthful statements proved the validity of what he said.

Normal people are getting fed-up with these racists and perverts and are standing up for God’s morals and values!
He’s black, he can say whatever he wants without consequences.
We honkeys on the other hand had better know our place.
Nobody, not even Dungy, is entitled to an opinion anymore. We have become very intolerant in the name of tolerance.
that wasn’t the issue specifically .
I understand it wasn’t the issue. I just don’t feel like he walked back at all.
We honkeys on the other hand had better know our place.
...a white man saying what Dungy said would immediately be on the outside looking in...
When you make statements on one day, then “clarify them” the next day, you are walking them back.
It wasn’t a total cave mind you, but he did feel the need to kiss some PC rear ends .
Sam signed a four-year contract for 2.6 million, of which only $46,000 is guaranteed. The NFL’s rookie salary structure means that players are basically signed on a pre-determined scale.

Still lopsided, at 90.6%. There may be hope for this country yet...
Over 90% NO!
I remember when the Bears played the Colts in the Super Bowl.
Some reporter kept asking Dungy: "Isn't it GREAT that two black head coaches are in the Super Bowl?
Dungy said "That's really not important. What's remarkable is that two Christian coaches are in it."
The reporter just wouldn't leave the race angle alone.
Dungy refused to take the bait.
And Dungy is completely correct about Sam.
The very LAST thing an NFL coach needs is a distraction.
He needs men that can work together to win games. Period.
One self-promoting horse's ass player is going to be a huge distraction. And a 7th round pick?
Who needs the drama?
If Sam was a top tier pick who really shined as a player it would be different.
Nobody would really care about his sexuality if Sam was a huge talent.
Plus, I wager a top player would have kept his yap shut until he was "established" as a star.

It’s gone UP just since i voted! LOL! ;-)
