OK, so what? Not our problem.

Well, we can gripe about it...but that is all we can and need to do. Maybe sanctions. But no military..EVER.
U. S. Officials aren’t going to do squat to Russia, they’re too afraid of putin.
Europe’s problem. The US has never had anything to do with Ukraine. /sarc
I recall that when this rebel movement began to make the headlines, that a rebel force had captured a Ukrainian airfield and captured a quantity of munitions and armament including weapons such as these SAMs. Of course, everything in that part of the world is Russian made, both sides of the conflict. So to say the SAM was Russian is correct, but not necessarily given to them during the present hostilities. IMO
Whhat say ye??
>> Russian-backed Ukrainian separatists shot down a Malaysia Airlines jetliner last week
Was there ever any doubt?
Bush is going to lie us into war again!
“U.S. intelligence officials presented reporters with their most detailed case yet Tuesday that Russian-backed Ukrainian separatists shot down ... “.
In other news, Glenn Beck, Sheriff Joe and Bill O’Reilly all plan to present new evidence on extraterrestrial aliens, if you will just tune in at 8:00 Central, 9:00 Eastern time/
In a war, there is no case.
Sending lawyers rather than warriors will end badly again..... like it did in Bengazi
Let’s not pretend we don’t know there are active duty Russian military personnel fighting and commanding inside Ukraine and even the rebels living in Ukraine are following orders from Moscow.
If you really think the Ukrainians are only fighting a few hundred drunks from Donetsk you really should be at DU not FR.
It is absurd to think a few drunk Russian rebels operated and have shot down multiple planes with that BUK or multiple BUK’s.
I honestly don’t think its fair to say Putin has control over the individual ‘rebel’ factions. He may support them in their general cause but if he had control he would probably uses it far more effectively.
I also don’t think the Washington has a lot of good evidence in the situation. Even if Putin provided the missile which would not at all be out of character given his support of Crimean Independence. He certainly didn’t order it fired at a civilian airliner.
If the missile was provided by Russia it was almost certainly provided to the rebels to help fight off Ukrainian air assaults. I however think its more than likely, given the rebels control of Crimea that they obtained the missile on their own from the Crimea’s(formerly Ukraine) own military supply. Which would be predominately Russian anyway.
Why bother going to Russia when there is a stock pile right next door all but abandoned by the Ukrainan military. Its like the various national guard armories here, your going to find all sorts of toys if you can get into them, and you will get into them when you take over the local & regional government.
What Crimea needs is a more established government of its own, able to take control of the region and its military. It needs this mostly because those missiles and the men who fired them are needed for Crimea’s defense.
