Xing Shiku tortured 'with chains' and 'electric shocks' in psychiatric hospital

The Chinese government routinely uses psychiatric confinements as a tool to control dissidents, a Chinese human rights group said on Monday.

Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) highlighted the case of Xing Shiku, a Chinese petitioner who has been involuntarily detained at the Daowai District Psychiatric Hospital in Harbin City since February 2007.;

CHRD says Xing was arrested in Beijing for filing complaints to government authorities about corruption and labor violations that occurred due to the privatization of the state-owned company where he once worked. He was then immediately transferred to the psychiatric hospital in northeast China.

As the White House has no internal news reporting infrastructure of its own and all federal employees, especially those in positions of power in the administration, are privy to the news, only from what they themselves get to read in the MSM, reading the way dissidents are treated in China, might be giving ideas to helping silence their own home grown critics.

Precisely. That’s a common fixture of progressive regimes the world over, and throughout history. Dissent is criminalized, and when the elites realize that approach has diminishing returns, they paint opposition as a mental illness.

It does not take a significant leap of rationale for a leftist to justify frog-marching the opposition off to the asylums and the reeducation camps. We already have progressives here in the west trying to reclassify skepticism of the messianic government into a mental illness, it doesn’t take much more than that for the leftists to start building camps.

In a sense, we’re already there. What are public schools but poorly disguised reeducation facilities? The boys are emasculated and drugged into submission, and the girls are indoctrinated into militant feminism.
