U.S. consumer prices rose in June as the cost of gasoline surged, but the overall trend continued to point to a gradual build up of inflationary pressures.
The Labor Department said on Tuesday its Consumer Price Index increased 0.3 percent last month after May's 0.4 percent gain. Gasoline accounted for two-thirds of the rise in prices last month. In the 12 months through June, the CPI increased 2.1 percent after a similar rise in May.

So inflation is getting so bad that finally — finally — the MSM has to notice it. This has been building up for 4 or 5 years but the media simply ignored it until now.
The ONLY reason we have not had skyrocketing inflation is the wretched Obama economy.
Get ready for Carter style stagflation.Or worse.
Hershey’s just raised its candy prices 8% across the board. Yea, gasoline, that must be it.
Gas way down in central florida.
high gasoline prices brought to you by Carl’s Jr.

Still pi$$ed this morning.
Seems high, compared to local, but look at the bright side.
High gas prices tends to keep poor people off the roads and less congestion.
Monetarist economists know that there’s no such thing as cost-push inflation, with items like gasoline or wages doing the pushing. The Obama regime’s cheap money policies are starting to cause inflation.
I’m not buying that spew from the government. Gasoline prices have NOT pushed up inflation. It is FOOD and consumer goods that are going up FAST.
Thank you. Thank you for using Facts. Facts are hard to deal with but as long as nobody takes the time or makes the effort to find them nobody deals with them.
We see from the comments here on FR that most are ignorant of the facts and swallow the crap spewed by this government hook line and sinker.
Gasoline prices are NOT responsible for inflation. They have NOT “surged”. Gasoline prices are essentially flat to lower over the last three years. The peak price has gone down. The consumer unrealistically expects the price of gasoline to not even increase with general inflation. Foolishness.
I feel your pain. I drive an F-250.
Gas has been $3.44 and up to 3:59 for months around here. Saw. It for 3.29 today. Still higher than it should be.
“The consumer unrealistically expects the price of gasoline to not even increase with general inflation. Foolishness.”
The government and their media mouthpieces are pretending there is no inflation (so they don’t have to adjust SS, and pay a price politically for the reckless spending and entitlement promises). Consumers are just too ignorant to realize practically EVERYTHING costs more (except the homes they owned as their nest eggs)...
You wonder how they can be so ignorant though don’t you?
In spite of having seen it for nearly six decades I am still amazed at how ignorant so many people can be and at how content they are with it.
Of course the MSM is going to start slowly bringing it up now. They will just keep these stories on a ‘low flame’, just enough to keep it in the LIV’s minds, but not any significant in depth reporting to actually ask any tough questions of the administration. If (or when) the GOP takes over the Senate in November, the MSM will be all over them, asking what they have planned to fix this out of control inflation.
“In spite of having seen it for nearly six decades I am still amazed at how ignorant so many people can be and at how content they are with it.”
They have been bombarded with one-sided propaganda for decades; I don’t think they are so content anymore (especially those with children and grandchildren) because the know the future is gloomy.
Like the plight of blacks in pre-Castro Cuba, the communist revolution we are enduring is benefiting only those that have been on the bottom of the socio-economic ladder for generations (and of course those leading the attack on the status quo); everyone else loses.
I drive a F-150, 36 gallon tank, averages 480 to 500 miles per tank.
What pi$$es me off is the price being that high in Louisiana, it's not like we don't have refineries or oil wells :)
